Not gonna lie kinda sad they left out some funny/good details from the novel. I was just waiting for the gods to mention a lot more on the god that messed with his life when he was on Earth but that never happened. His life was a lot more messed up than depicted here, he had to catch pigeons for food, etc.

Yh what the earth god did was so messed up.he basically made sure that ryouma had a talent for handling like old era weapons like swords and stuff but not for modern weapons like guns. And then he put a tendency for murder inside him and put him in various situations ( like his dads abuse and his moms death) that would drive him to the edge and make him a murderer and then he wanted to see if a person with a talent for murder and for primitive weapons could win over modern weapons after he became a criminal. That’s why ryouma’s life was so hard. It doesn’t even sound as bad when I explain it like this. It was much worse in the book. This is just the shortened version

the manga does cut a lot of details, though in its defense, it did take awhile for the novel to reveal all that.
and yeah. the earth god also apparently surrounded him with total a**holes. ryouma doesn't really have bad social skills, he just thinks he does because the people he was surrounded by were that impossible to deal with.

I could never see this happening in my school everybody has the confidence to speak up or to at least tell somebody. Also if somebody saw somebody bullying someone they would stop it. I know I've already beat a bully's ass for trying to bully my friend.

i also found it a little strange how in this story, being gay is such a big deal that people would actually use it for bullying. bc where im from, no one gives a shit but i guess its just a difference in culture

Does anyone know anything similar to this?

almost every romance manhua has plot like this.I now can't remember the names but first that comes to my mind is http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/zhiran_chenghun/ and http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/chunqing_yatou_huolala/
Rest in peace Rimmer.
Whyyyy???
The novel summarized his death needed to happen to make Roan feel sorrow to reach transcendence. He died in a dumb fight in my opinion tbh he fought in larger battles against stronger people and didn't die before the one he did die in. Though I also just don't believe that he had to die. I feel Roan had already felt sorrrow in his last life when he was forced to kill 7 or 9 I don't exactly remember the name when he was first getting trained as an assassin.
