Right! I love that MC actually feels like a person... He isn't all righteous nor is he all selfish, kindness is woven into him but he knows when he should strongarm. I loveeee him playing god/devil sm rn which makes me wonder if there's a chance he might lose his humanity some time soon

I feel like there's a convenient avenue of him having to sacrifice his kindness to save his family. I think we've seen that a bit with some of the monster hunts he organizes--while it hasn't gone especially poorly yet, his (perfectly reasonable) desire to progress has him sending his vassals into situations they are likely neither physically nor psychologically prepared for. But then he combats that with willingness to let poison-lady find a different role or his genuine desire to help bear-lady see her son again. The type of decision making definitely makes him a more compelling character to me.

There is also potential conflict in how he is one of few, especially among those he is close with, who never seems to face the same level of danger--a king in his castle, a god in her cloud. He has the fear for his loved ones giving him relatability but I wonder how he will maintain that when the connection with his family is resolved (either in salvation or death). If he loses that sense of perspective, It seems easier to feel like everything is a game. Like if you ever read Ender's Game as a kid?

The thing I'm most interested in are the quests he can send with the screens. While they have an associates price, they can force most anyone into most anything. That's a lot of power to give one individual. A turning point for his kindness could be exemplified by using that power to say execute someone. And that's not criticism, I could see that being very cool. Violent peacekeeping is only an oxymoron if you think peace can be kept without fighting for it. Maybe this is too cringe like that movie with ugly Jared keto joker, yk?

Sorry for the ramble, your reply got me thinking! And just for anyone reading this: I have no knowledge of the novel or anything so this is spoiler-free (beyond what is published here already of the comic) and pure loser speculation.
