Plus self satisfaction ain’t really a bad thing at all in this scenario. Though I wouldn’t really call it self satisfaction I’d call it being straight up worried and not knowing what to do. The MC was worried about dog dude and if dog dude is alright and healthy, of course the MC is gonna be satisfied. Like I could see if dog dude didn’t want to eat dog food, which is what I thought he’d talk about but then he went off topic with that “self satisfaction” bull crap.
The only thing I noticed the step sisters is a big nose and freckles. But that doesn’t mean their ugly they are so pretty!

I’ve read a lot of villainous novels, and there are a few like this where the reincarnated villainess is in the mindset that the heroine has to get together because how the story is written. But she doesn’t realize that her actions are changing the story. She thinks if she does nothing then the story will follow the same path, but that’s exactly the problem. She’s doing nothing! Leana in the original story was an attention seeker who bullied Mia, but she is kind to Mia and tries to stay in the shadows. If she acts opposite to the way leana did in the story then it seems obvious that things might change or go in the obvious direction, but she’s constantly confused as to why the story isn’t progressing how it’s supposed to be and it’s very annoying. She herself isn’t the same leans as in the story, so even if she did her best to act like her, it won’t be the original leana. Changing even a little 5ing can have a large effect. That’s why I would like to see more of villainous leads treating reincarnation as time travel, because one action could change everything. The way some characters are like “why am I feeling this way towards this person,” or, “my hearts beating so fast it must be an illness!” Is also annoying. She read the novel, surely there was some description of what love felt like to her, but she’s treating it as something completely foreign. This story annoys me to hell and back. I like the art, but if she continues to act annoying, oblivious, and downright dumb then I don’t know if I can continue reading this....
there us also this idea in some novels that despite changing the story line everything will soon be put into place just like the original timeline to satisfy the writer.
Not sure if you have seen July Found By Chance or watch extraordinary you but there is always a risk that the changed now might divert to the plot line in the original timeline and perhaps the king might really fall for the heroine and she would be hated and schemed against.
This is honestly why I like 'Beware of the villainess', Melissa's character is super refreshing and the Idgaf personality she has is spot on, the Prev MLs are hate-able and she doesn't have this "oh, he's actually a good guy" moment yk.
Most reincarnation manga/hua/hwa has this fate like force driving the characters to this foreseeable future which honestly tilts me because it'll usually have the happy-go-lucky MC who 'desperately' wants to change her future but completely turns it to a cliché.
What I'd give to read an mc that goes "FOK IT, IMMA JUST LEAVE, THIS DOESN'T MATTER FOR SHIZ" or "If I'm gonna be a Villain, how about I be diabolical and truly evil as a real villain should be", I mean yea, I've read a few like that but I wouldn't complain is there was more, good food right there -w-
Omg I agreeeee so much. Beware of thee villainous is amazing because she’s knows what her actions do and that’s why she does them. It makes me laugh so much and it’s honestly a rare gem among these kinds of stories. It also only has one love interest for her (or maybe two if you count the heroine, not sure if it’s platonic or romantic yet). But like I with these comics there’s always multiple love interests, and it’s kind of refreshing not having to worry about hurt feelings.

I'd put death is the only ending for the villainess in there too but it has a more serious vibe and the ML is obv one of the 5 (reading the novel and it's ahead of the manhwa so can say for certain) but the fact that it doesn't show any form of salvation for the brothers and the duke gives me some comfort, well, there's a bit of salvation but mc is always like "it's too late to act like this now, if only u acted like this towards the real Penelope"(this breaks my heart every time)
It's also a manhwa I can forgive if it goes down the cliché storyline because it makes sense umu
