And the best parts are, her fiancé is the one that throws them all under the bus, and he lives happily, just loses his title. And Meille practically signs her own slave papers to Anne, thinking the FL was saving her. So Meille becomes a penniless commoner that has to work for a mere maid as her servant for the rest of her life.
