Hey, I'm kinda interested in reading this, and I just want to make sure that there's no love triangle in this one? I mean, i'm fine with a little bit of triangle (since it seems obvious so in the summary) but does it go on for like a lot of chapters? I just hate those type of stories. Thanks everyone!
This manhwa, while having a decent story and art, had pushed me off the limits of my frustration by its characters. Nevermind the whole thing in the start where Minjae started having feelings for Woochan considering he literally seduced and started a relationship with the girl fully knowing that she was in a relationship and was only doing it for malicious reasons, let's just say it was because of the reincarnation bruhaha whatever. I'm not saying that I'm excusing the girl for what happened, as I think she is one of the worst characters in the story as she literally had no accountability for what she have done. Not only is she not remorseful on cheating on the guy that stood by her side even when she was a nobody in the industry, and who loved her enough to go to fucking Australia to become a better person for her, she had the audacity to reveal Minjae and Woochan's PRIVATE MATTERS to shitty reporters whose only drive is to ruin celebs' lives for profit. And that's not even considering what she does at the wedding! She not only disrespected the couple to be wed, she participated in revealing and forcefully revealing Minjae and Woochan's relationship to the public. Wow she's truly a disgusting person and I hate how she was portrayed in the end to be all "good and mighty" when she was the one who had no remorse on the things she did. Bitch. And how can I not rant about disgusting characters when we have Minjae's teacher. He's truly disgusting, and my skin was crawling everytime he was on screen. Sexual harrasment, drugging, and just general creepiness aside, he was just infuriating by the time the wedding arc came. Jesus, how stupid and caricature like could you portray the main characters when they literally don't even think that he's a disgusting human person? What was all that shit by the end with Woochan and fate on the rooftop? Like gosh, I know that this medium has very shallow and simple characters, but by god, they don't even feel like real humans by that point. "Please stay as his teacher"? "You're the one who knows most about his talent"? Jesus christ that's someone you know who sexually harasses the one he is obsessed with (remember that scene when they had dinner and he was all rubbing his foot on Minjae's legs - disgusting), but he is also someone who could and would drug someone (like Jesus, this could be grounds for him to go to prison - but it's OK! It's yaoi and people are stupid). You're literally letting someone like him stay in your lives? That's ridiculous! No sane person, however simplified and caricatured you are in stories does that! Gosh it just infuriates me to no end that even in this cesshole of a genre rife with stereotypes and tropes, something like this would happen. I' m honestly just aghast. anyways, don't take my words as something that diminishes your enjoyment, or that attacks your taste, this is just entertainment after all, but by God, I just hate the characters so much I wanna punch someone (which is something I would totally do if I was in the story - that teacher is just begging someone to flatten his face with a fucking tank)
I know you commented this quite some time ago, but I just want to find solidarity lmao bc most of the comments are nothing but praises and them crying. I mean, it was an okay story, cute & all that, but man that left me unsatisfied bc literally none of the characters who did sht got repercussions. Author literally brushed off all the horrible actions with rainbows. They touched some of the most disgusting issues our society has but the severity was covered with a fcking happy ending. Literally wtf
I'm so glad you think the same way! it's been days since I've read this and I still froth at the mouth because of the ending. I don't know, this manhwa just rubs me the wrong way. Given the tropes and trends of the genre, I would normally just brush this off but the context and narrative around these situations make me so livid about all the issues that this has that I just had to rant to release my anger. It makes me so happy that someone shares my view, it validates it in a way lol
It made me happy too when I read your comment haha! I felt alien amidst all the positive feedbacks - which are ofc not bad since it really is a cute cliche story - however because of said comments my expectations were high but it felt flat & some parts rubbed me the wrong way like you felt. Real life, frightening issues and crimes (!!) were portrayed but because the story was too focused on positive resolutions and happy endings, it just brushed off said issues. I would normally ignore them esp if they're mostly emotional conflicts (good ole stories where characters alwayssss forgives) but they're actually pretty severe to be solved by some talk on the rooftop. Lol I'm getting heated again but I'm glad someone shares my view as well
i just binge-read this manhwa and i am still so fucking mad about ryuh han gaslighting MC. that mf really is a piece of shit and i hope that MC will really cut their relationship. i was literally fuming with how MC was manipulated into thinking that "it was all for my own good" when he even states in the prev chapters that he sees and suspects that ryuh han is just manipulating him and controlling his life. it really sits at the back of my mind and I can't even enjoy the fluff because of that POS. fuck him i hope he falls into a ditch somewhere
I disagree, I don't think Ryuh Han is gaslighting Sang Hwa. Sang Hwa only thinks that way in the past because he expects Ryuh Han to return his feelings and be more than friends.
I realized this during the pancake story, while Ryuh Han eats the pancakes Sang Hwa baked even though his full just to not hurt Sang Hwa's feelings, but Sang Hwa take it in a bad light and took it against him.
To begin with, Ryuh Han is not aware of Sang Hwa's romantic feelings and acted only as a friend. Sang Hwa realizes this himself once he was freed from his unrequited love for Ryuh Han.
Can i just say, this is so damn good. I really love how the conflicts in the story really address the fundamental issues that the characters have. For example, the love triangle (we all know it Daun-Siwon is endgame and siwon probs doesn't even see Yoonjung romantically but you get my point) is not just something that's done to add unnecessary drama that spans the duration of 30 chaprers that doesn't develop characters ar all. It's actually a catalyst for Daun to finally make a choice and make his identity for himself, and not just to please others. He even acknowledges it, he feels inferior because he can't pursue Siwon freely like Yoonjung does because his assumed identity prohibits it. There's also the flinch he does when Siwon says "the more you want to see them" and I feel like that's gonna comeback later. And Siwon, with his current predicament? It's really sad and horrible for him to experience that again, but honestly, this is an opportunity for him to confront his trauma. His experience in the past has really shaped him, pushing him to become more of an "attention whore". It has even impacted his self esteem and self worth to the point that he feels he shouldn't confess to Daun and love him because he would be an embarassment to him. I can't even imagine how deep the wounds he has to think that. That he's an embarassment and that he doesn't deserve to be happy and love. I just hope that this time, he'll realize that he's not alone, and that there are people who appreciate him, and that he's allowed to be happy no matter what he may look like. And yoonjung, my beautiful lady. Honestly, I was a bit scared when the "love triangle" was introduced since I just hate that trope, but she and Daun were so mature and calm about it! They were so hilarious, seeing their antics to get Siwon lol but she was just so badass these past few chapters and she's just so pretty and kind and strong. I still don't ship her with Siwon but that's okay since I know Siyoung would spoil and treat her lile the damn queen she is. she's strong, she'll get over it hahah
Also, does anyone know where the official translations are available? I'd love to buy some chapters if I can since I just love this series so much. Thank you! And for you, dear reader, please do share your thoughts below, I'd love to discuss them!
