I get how the snake was just an accident when they were kids and mara is innocent but what about the uncle?? Apparently it’s a dangerous tool that went illegal did he nvr wonder where it went all those years? Did he even tell mara how to use it properly??? Mara didnt even seem to know what it is before the doc told them. And in the first place, why would you even give that to a kid? Joel literally suffered and never got to enjoy his childhood because of it, and imagine having nightmares every time you sleep!! Thats so mentally taxing

And Joel is a fucking saint tbh if he hated mara a lil bit after that, i wouldnt even bat an eye. Accident or not. The flashbacks of his smol self crying alone and not being able to go to school and make friends is just painful.

Ok rn mc’s the only one acting remotely sane, but the constant insecurity monologues are getting exhausting like bro just dip, that place is stressing you out like crazy. I mean I get it tho, the semes out here giving zero fucks. Everyone’s lowkey giving me the ick right now, but the setting’s kinda interesting so i’ll just let it marinate for a bit and see how it goes
