I want to actually fucking beat the shit out of the uncle. Like blood pressure sky rockets when I see him on screen. Fuck him.

Usotsuki June 4, 2024 2:27 am

Well at least he wasn't jorking it. Our boy is still pure and good. For now.

I feel like the romantic moments are out of nowhere and they seem isolated. Like there's no lingering of feelings or sexual/romantic passion bleeding into their interactions. Like no heated gazes being crossed, or desire to keep doing things even when the plot is moving. Like they just cut their feelings off too cleanly between scenes.

    Limeqde May 9, 2024 4:03 am

It feels exactly that way to me. It's as of every kiss they have is strictly on impulse but that's it. We don't see Eustaph holding back his desire or Lan feeling flustered for a long time but this might have to do with the fact they have known each other for a long time. Like maybe they've loved each other for so long that loving as lovers isn't much different from them loving to the point of sacrificing each other's life for each other.

I know it's the translation, but at chapter 102 (recent chap) when Eustaph called Lan "Sis", it kinda gave me the ick. It's hella weird, but considering how that's what he's been calling her for long time in the past, it might have been natural for him. However, if they are lovers, I'd rather they not mention anything about being raised as siblings or whatnot.

I like that the father actually has a character. He's more complex than a simple "doting adoptive dad". Especially that last shot of his kinda sad expression

    Tochi May 10, 2024 3:33 pm

I completely agree. Its understandable if people hate the dad for heing tsundere though but i feel like it adds a whole lot to the story

Usotsuki April 27, 2024 6:59 am

Yassss ravage him

Am I the only one that feels zero chemistry between the leads, and no excitement because I don't see the chemistry? Like Ran is kinda boring and it feels out of character for Yustaf to have fallen in love with her. Like they're cute, but I feel like she had better chemistry with lumie.

    banannogram April 22, 2024 7:49 am

Personally, the opposite is said for me. I enjoyed the subtle hints thrown every now and again by the author drifting toward a blooming romance development between Ran and Yustaf. Although one could argue I speak with a natural bias out of favor for intricately painted plots and typically slow burn romances. However, be that as it may, their romance was nowhere near sudden. As is expressed in only the most recent chapters detailing the start to their romantic relationship as dating partners. Along with being incredibly similar to one another, they share many habits, memories, etc. For me, this further solidifies as to why they feel like puzzle pieces finally coming together as if it were meant that way in the beginning.

I truthfully felt as time progressed in this webtoon, both leads leapt towards personal growth. In direct reference to this, I sincerely respect the author for not making a patched up decision and throwing either main characters in there without proper backstory, personality or drive. There is nothing more painful than knowing a stories potential could be greater than what it achieved.

As for the circumstances revolving around Lumie and his character, I find him naturally off putting, mainly due to his mild obsession with Ran. I hope that Lumie is given a greater purpose in this webtoon other than being relevant only in the presence and act of following Ran. Lumie has great potential as a character to blossom but given he's not shown a tremendous amount other than as a reminder to a love rivalry, which he has lost, he's not received many chances for readers to see him in a different light. This is main reason behind why I find him difficult to relate to as a character. He's given less chances to portray intricate details and personality traits we'd sympathize more readily with.

I hope eventually Lumie either discovers new passions or is given the opportunity to grow as well, with another person who is suited to him.

End note : sorry for the long note, I just figured I'd insert this here just as a response. It's always interesting to see everyone's different perspectives as readers! (▰˘◡˘▰)

@banannogram I love your words! On point.

I agree. They're both so bland and it's never explained why they have feelings for each other like WHY

    ikigai May 15, 2024 2:23 am

Totally agree. It just doesn’t feel real? Like almost too perfect

Usotsuki April 22, 2024 1:58 am

I could have done without the rapist dude reappearing ngl. I felt avios arc was complete with his dad finding him. Imo should have left him as an amorphous "monster" without humanizing him. Cuz like what does that say about gay love?? It's okay to rape ur crush if u cry at his funeral??

Usotsuki April 13, 2024 4:31 pm

The translation is god awful. One of the worst I've seen. But the art and story are so cute DX

    Sakuraruu April 13, 2024 8:48 pm

For me, it's not that bad...
    Because I've seen worse.

I usually stop reading and wait for a better translation in those cases...

    Chibi April 16, 2024 1:14 am

I've seen way worse, from my experience this is a pretty ok fan translation xD
This is better then me going to read in Korean and using google translator to understand the story.

you can read it on webtoon website for the official translation~

Usotsuki April 13, 2024 3:03 am

I unironically love this one because it's kinda so shit that it's camp. It's not really BAD but it gives indie writer so hard that I feel like I'm supporting a child making their first comic. Like it's cliche and full of holes, and just, quite bad. But I'm attached to it much like someone would be attached to a dog so ugly that it's cute.

why did you put my thoughts for this specific story into words

    Angexiety April 18, 2024 7:32 pm

You perfectly summed up my thoughts on this whole story that I haven't managed to articulate into proper words

    ilxi April 25, 2024 3:40 am

Omgg yess its so cliche and corny but I love it so much( ̄∇ ̄")

    April 25, 2024 3:44 pm

Precisely my thoughts! I've been reading this manhwa for years and it's one of the first stories that got me hooked on the villainess/historial revenge troupe. Have I read better over the years? YES, DEFINITELY. Is the plot overused and predictable? Yes, for sure. But do I still loyally come back to watch the events play out? Yes!!! I still enjoy reading the chapters even if the plot is inconsistent and senseless, I'm so attached that I want to see the manhwa team's hardwork through start to finish. Plus with manhwas nowadays having such sophisticated storylines, it's nice to come back to a little goofy story that's easier to consume and digest then intense angst. I hope the artist knows people still eagerly come back to see this story even if years have gone by :)

    Hattiert May 9, 2024 8:43 pm

Hahahaha! What a great comment! You managed to define my weird ass attachment to this story.
