Because we are told this in constant mass through our media, shared stories, and various exposures that this kind of love and treatment is ultimately worth it. And then when people reduce it to simply to it’s just fiction argument it infuriates me. No duh it’s fiction but when every aspect of your media tells you this is normal, this is desirable, this is acceptable you begin to believe this internally at worst and at best you condition yourself to be desensitized. Fiction is created by real people who have these real thoughts.
Authors rlly do be normalizing this, but i’m glad there are still sensible people out there who knows that this is NOT okay, and shouldn’t be normalized.
