I'm finally done rereading both the novel and manhwa so here's a list of some of the differences between the two. Beware this contains major spoilers.
The plot in the manhwa is more instense compared to the novel. The resolution of problem in the novel is a bit anti climatic due to Lucas being way TOO OP.
In the manhwa, it took some effort to get Claudes memory back and clear his body from the curse of using black magic. Meanwhile, in the novel, Lucas just literally stabbed Claude with the world tree branch in the head to resolve the situation lol.
Athy being a princess and doing her role as one is portrayed more in the manhwa as compared to the novel. Also, the manhwa showed more political struggles whereas in the novel, it was barely shown.
The novel showed more of Athy learning how to do magic and "struggling" to use magic at first as compared to the manhwa where she just magically knows how to do it.
Lucas and Athy got together in the novel, unlike in the manhwa where it was not shown who Athy ended up with. They had a daughter in one paralled world. But in another parallel world, the one Athy loved and married is Eizekel because the Athy of that world only viewed Lucas as her precious friend.
The novel showed more intimate interaction between Lucas and Athy which was either omitted or changed in the manhwa.
Examples are:
✓In the novel Athy hugged Lucas when he returned after obtaining the world tree branch, but in the manhwa she only kabedoned him.
✓Lucas doing a back hug on athy
✓Lucas and Athy's kissing scenes.
Jennette had a better ending in the manhwa. In the novel, she never had a proper closure with the princess before leaving the palace. But in the extras they are slowly building back their strained relationship.
Jennete from the "Lovely Princess" actually knows that Claude is not her real father but she chose to keep quite and is treating the situation (being Claude's beloved "daughter") as Claude's payment for killing Anasthacious.
Anastacious was only ever mentioned in the novel and he remained dead till the end. Aethernitas was reborn by using dark magic and is a big fan of Lucas but he doesn't resent him in the novel unlike what was shown in the manhwa. In fact in the novel Aethernitas can barely be considered the main villain. The most he did is be a fake magician of the tower and amplifying the dark magic within Jennete so she would lose control.
Characters from "Beware of the brothers" were shown in the novel but this was removed in the manhwa. Athy went to Atlanta when she waa running away and that's where she met them.
Overall both manhwa and the novel have their own good points. Personally, I would recommend the novel for those who only wants a relaxing and entertaining read. And the manhwa is what I will recommend for those looking for more in depth plot.
Me seeing the RiaxAsisi ship in Daughter of the Emperor: "Noooooo, aside from the fact Asisi is like Ria's second father, Asisi is also almost same age as Ria's father.(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻"
Also me a f*cking hypocrite: "Team Lucas all the wayヾ(*’O’*)/, they had their first kiss when Athy was 18 and got married when Athy is 26 so its legal and age gap doesn't matter lol(─.─||)".
P.S. Actually its my rotten side who ship Caitel and Asisi in Daughter of the Emperor thats stopping me from not liking the RiaxAsisi ship lol (●'◡'●)
Is this based on a novel? If yes then can someone please tell me the title of the novel (⌒▽⌒)
i don’t know if it is but if you want to see ahead here are the raws https://tkor.toys/재생
It really rare to encounter an ML on BL manhwas who actually admits his wrong doings without making up tons of excuses or victim blaming
