Yeah, absolutely no victim deserves what happens to them. Now, having said that, reread a couple of chapters back and NOTHING was hardcore enough for mc. He was looking for trou~ble. The most painful inflicting the better. He already knew Taeseo was trouble, and mc was spiriling so bad even if mc had actually warning him in detail he would’ve probably ignored him anyways tbh lol. Remember mc is now speaking from experience and in hindsight “oh shit, it wasnt fun it was trouble trouble”. But that’s a bed he himself made, so now he has to lie in it. We can be sympathetic, sure, but don’t strip him of the consequences of his own actions. A simple serious warning “Taeseo is trouble. Don’t associate with him” PLUS how mc already disliked him cause he gave mc bad vibes was warning enough. Mc was looking for trouble, he found it. Not ml’s fault at all come on lol.

“trouble” = a toxic partner who treats his s/o’s like shit. NOT someone who will commit unspeakable crimes. cmon i know you have read thousands of other stories where the ML is “trouble” and the trouble is just that he’s a dipshit. u just don’t like him bc he’s not all submissive & agreeable

I’m not saying “he deserves what he got” AT ALL. I’m saying, 1) it wasn’t ML’s fault, because he did give warning, just not in detail like you or MC would want and like ML asked “would he even have listened?” In hindsight, ofc he’s gonna say yes, but a couple of chapters back, it wouldve gone to deaf ears . 2) He was just so out of control that he was careless and didn’t look out for his own safety. ok spoiler, so sunset glitches the entire arena fighting the snow boss so everyone was frozen and the event has no pvp, so theres no player revive point and everyone who participated in the battle is stuck in the arena and all the servers started getting stuck one after another and even after redownloading relogging in resetting nothing worked, the devs did an emergency shutdown and that made neuta lose his bunny and several other players lose a lot of precious items, so neuta logged off the game and had movie time w jigu ^^ and they ^^
anyway the devs did another notice and returned all players affected their missing items
