This manga had huge potential, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a flop from the way things are handled and sloppily concluded. Seriously? I'm surprised that main character is even willing to stay with a love interest who's clearly demonstrated that he has no compunctions to actually make someone do his chores and if you want me to put it bluntly, everyone is an asshole for quite literally enslaving Kadokura.

His father's apology showed little remorse for what he has done and honestly I felt that Kadokura deserves the right to kick up an even bigger fuss and tantrum for the amount of shit he has to go through tolerating a bunch of self-entitled bigots.

I know right! I can't believe they justified their self-serving and exploitative ways with such a ludicrous explanation—I'm just so, so mad! Kadokura should have left these assholes to rot with their ineptness in even the simplest of housework. But alas, this is yaoi and once you've met your destined seme, you can never escape from his clutches, never. Until you end up in bed with him.

Yea,but at least at the end he stood up for himself and wouldn't give them food if they didnt do there part so I was pretty happy with that ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I feel the same way, this manga had so much potential, yet it was wasted like that. Seriously, I would love to see him moving out from there, and to see the seme really trying to show that he loves him, it could have been a chance for great character development, instead we still end up with selfish seme. JUST FOR ONCE DO SOMETHING FOR HIM YOU ASSHOLE!

Forget the thumbs down. Sorry. I meant to agree.

Yes, yes and YES!! I agree with everything!

The reaction to Kadokuras "outburst" can be translated like: How dare you ask to be treated as an actual person instead of a thing for us to use! How insolent! As if you were an actual human being with actual thoughts, feeling, wishes and dreams.

"outburst" because it's not really an outburst is self preservation. And not a day to late. To bad he is so fucked up by all that emotional and psychological abuse he doesn't realise Kimas actually also abusing him ┗( T﹏T )┛

This is coming from someone who has read the raws but I'll keep it as spoiler-free as possible, and I’m aware that the sentiments I’ll be expressing will probably be met with a lot disagreements, but anyway.

The lack of communication between them two is honestly getting rather depressing, it's going to drag on until around Chapter 28 until everything is finally resolved. This manga started off with a really, really fantastic bang but now everything's settling down into this usual trope of misunderstandings and miscommunication because they just don't sit down and talk, ever. And when they do, more and more barriers are being brought up by Min Gyeom and each and every time, he rejects Chun Sam's effort to break through until both of them are tired—tired of each other. Then Min Gyeom goes running into his co-worker's arms while Chun Sam is left alone to mull over what exactly he's done wrong when the fault lies with both of them.

I understand that there are instances where it's difficult to convey what you want to say to each other, but if you're already at that stage where you both decide to exchange phone numbers, with the purpose of COMMUNICATION, please at least do that?

Also, can I just say that co-worker gives one of the most shitty relationship advice I've ever heard of? It's funny how both of them keep going to different people to understand what the other party wants, Min Gyeom to his co-worker and Chun Sam to his mother--when you can just go directly to the other party to get an explicit answer.
I'm not against authors portraying a lack of communication in a relationship, because it happens far too often, but when you do so for more than half of the chapters it currently has now, it becomes contrived drama.

At this point, I don't see any chemistry between either of them. Min Gyeom, although established as someone being too flighty and afraid—which I understand because of his childhood—it’s still strange for him to trust whatever his co-worker says without a shadow of doubt while whatever Chun Sam tells him, he reacts with disbelief. I don’t see their relationship being a solid one unless Min Gyeom does some character development, a lot of it, at current moment, he’s being a selfish prick (I’m sorry) who’s only thinking about himself; Chun Sam has a lot growing up to do with regards to assertion as well, he doesn’t doubt Min Gyeom like Min Gyeom does to him, but he doubts himself. And when two people in a relationship doubt a single person—that’s the person who will always get hurt.

This might seem like a huge diatribe from how it sounds, but really I’m just a fan who sees so much potential in this story and it’s frustrating to see it wasted.

    excellent review

i dont disagree with anything you've said, but i think it's important to keep in mind that min gyeom's been emotionally and physically neglected for most of his life. [spoiler] he has a loving relationship with his little sister, but as far as i'm aware that's it. Even then, it's got to be tough being raised in a house where your sibling gets everything and you get very little-and not even come to resent them for it. [end spoiler] i think a lot of the issues he keeps running into are a result of his inexperience with healthy loving relationships, he's scared he's unworthy of being loved because that's what his dad told him to believe-i think that's why he wants to keep sam from knowing about his family situation, he's ashamed but he's also scared sam will start treating him the way his father did. he's also scared of being leeched from and getting nothing in return-more than just metaphorically, because both his dad and chun sam take his blood for their own benefit and i'm sure the parallels are no accident.

The coworker is a jaded asshole who gives the worst advice, but while we can see they're manipulative and awful i think min gyeom genuinely doesn't, or else has normalised that kind of behaviour since he's used to it. I don't mean to make him out like a vulnerable, helpless victim cos he definitely isn't! abuse victims are capable of doing bad things and hurting people, same as everyone else. That being said, I'm also finding it quite frustrating that these misunderstandings keep happening, and they'd almost all be solved if they just actually talked-or else it's ridiculous that they haven't discussed them at all before, like the nurse being sam's mum (seriously, why has that taken until chapter 27 to clear up, smh)

Until Ch. 28??? I definitely agree with you here, it started out great and now is way too deep in the "drama" to feel satisfying or even like their relationship is moving forward.

Thank you! I didn't expect my review to be met with much love seeing how this manga is very highly rated. I'm not so much about Min Gyeom being insecure in general, but more about the fact that he really doesn't even take the effort to understand Chun Sam and make himself understood by the person he likes. From the interactions he has with others, such as his co-worker, his employer and his classmates, it's safe to say that he doesn't have any crippling deficiencies with regards to social interaction so it boggles me how he just can't even say a single word about his own thoughts and feelings, even just a little tiny bit. I don't mean to say I want him to immediately come clean with Chun Sam about his past and fears, but the least you could say is, "I'm not comfortable with talking about this" instead of just storming off without any explanations. Chun Sam isn't any better. He instinctively knows that Min Gyeom has a rather troubled past and he respectfully decides to give him some space—but there comes a point where you have to start taking the initiative and proactively make someone feel comfortable and safe enough to share intimate details about their life with you, and it's really long overdue. At some point, I can even sympathize with Chun Sam since he virtually does nothing but suck his blood, help him carry his grocery bags and make small talk. In fact, most conversations they have with each other are now superficial at best and despite having short interactions with each other, they manage to get out the most aggravating misunderstandings from each other's words and I'm just left frustrated each and every time they allow the doubts to simmer and grow despite knowing that the other party is not happy about it. Arghhhhhhhhh and I know right?

    [SPOILER ALERT]

He even went to his house a few chapters before that and usually one would inquire or talk about their mother since Chun Sam's DAD is there and judging from his relationship with the nurse, you can clearly tell he can't keep his mouth shut about her. Needless, pointless drama.

Good luck!!! I just hope everything's resolved quickly so that there will be mo more petty misunderstandings. Sometimes I think they expect each other to have telepathy or something from just how the amount of thought bubbles can overwhelm the dialogue bubbles hahaha

no you're right, most of the conflict would be nonexistent if they just talked about stuff! idk if min gyeom sees chun sam as special, like someone he really doesn't want to disappoint so he doesn't want to tell him about stuff like that? i dont understand the raws but i kinda got the impression after he [spoiler] went to sams house and met his dad that he felt there was a wider distance between them because sam had a loving family and a nice home, so min gyeom felt like he didn't belong or something. I could be misinterpreting that whole scene though [end spoiler]

Even then, relationships thrive on honesty. and idk why he's lying about going to cram school and how the guy is actually his co-worker, it's just making him feel guiltier and act shiftier and it's like hey you know this guy's a vampire, that's a way bigger secret than the fact you have a job outside school! he already knows you're poor dude! and honestly the same goes for chun sam, why is the nurse being your mum a secret? she gave min gyeom presents in the past, why wouldn't sam have mentioned it before? why wouldn't min gyeom ask why the nurse was giving him presents? even the lip balm, surely chun sam would have mentioned that he gave it to his mum.

ah man, i like this comic a lot but you've opened the flood gates for all my little annoyances with it haha here's hoping with recent...developments in the latest raw chapters things will start to make sense soon. or not, both of these boys are so dense.
