I'm an anime fan only but I'd like to read the manga as well. Should I start from the beginning or is it alright to pick it up after the anime ended? Someone told me I could start from around chapter 50 but that seems like a lot, any recommendations here? (●'◡'●)ノ

So the novel is actually being translated to english? I wanted to go through it first but decided to go through the manga since I heard it was pretty faithful to the novel. I'm very happy I started it from the beginning, I'm in chapter 48 right now and MAN the anime skipped way too much content!!! I'm actually quite perplexed they left out so much when it's so important (it's all world-building after all). Might appear in the next season, hopefully :)

I'm extremely happy getting to see most of our boys and the fact that they're all together as well, bUT FURUDATE-SENSEI WHERE ARE KUROO AND AKAASHI??? WE HAVEN'T SEEN THEM AT ALL AND THERE'S NO WAY THEY'RE NOT WATCHING THIS MATCH!!! (/TДT)/
That aside, even if it's the final arc, I'd have liked it to go a little bit slower. Like actually seeing Hinata in the tryouts, him talking to everyone once he went back to Japan and such... it might not amount to much but it's still important to us readers. All the more knowing it might (from the title of the chapter) all end after this match. Big sigh, but big hopes as well!

Since many are only manga readers, I come with some extra info from the novel that you've of course missed! Don't worry it's not spoilers, as it's Ursch's POV from way back (probably around the first or second novel chapters which are the first two manga chapters here I believe) and the now released chapter 7! Just hoping it helps someone who doesn't necessarily wants to read the novel :)
First of all, the novel tags include YANDERE ML. Many wonder if Ursch is a yandere character or not but at least the tags in novelupdates include that one so yes he is confirmed as one so far.
Second of all, HE LOVES ISABELLA. I know that many are worried that because he's a yandere or whatnot Isabella won't be happy and such (I understand why you'd be worried, she deserves the world) but that's why I come with this info here:
In Ursch's POV, which you see a little of in the manga (when he explains about 'his treasure' and how he's found it) you can truly feel how much he loves and cares for Isabella. He would never hurt her or do anything that would make her unhappy, so don't worry about that. He has a LONG speech, it's a full extra chapter yes, explaining the whole treasure thing better and why he's fallen hard for such a cute girl and else. It's honestly adorable, not creepy nor scary at all.
Second of all, Isabella hints in the novel that she KNOWS about Ursch's yandere tendencies and vibes while getting to know him, and she doesn't care. In fact, she's happy that she's getting to know him better and just like the latest manga showed she's willing to stay with him forever even after knowing his scary side.
Chapter 7 and 8 of the manga cover the, so far, longest novel chapter, and of course a lot has been missing (specially their inner thoughts). When Ursch says that even if she's sick of him and tries to run away he won't leave her side, Isabella has a small inner speech talking about how his personality is truly different from what she thought and recalls a lot of incidents that have happened since they met. She clearly states, like I mentioned previously, that she loves him all the same and is actually happy he would feel so possessive of her which is why she replies the way she does. Isabella is not a yandere of course, but damn she's pretty obsessed in a healthier way I guess? of Ursch as well so you could say they're the perfect couple!!! It's honestly quite endearing if anything.
Hope this gave more intel to those who wish for it, I just love this series very much (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

I feel you!!! I fell in love with the first two chapters but I've never really gotten into anything with a yandere ML so I was worried as well, that's why I started reading the novel since I read somewhere it had much more info on Ursch's side. I'm really glad I did :) and glad I could help as well!!!

Here you go, though they've posted it already: https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-villainess-wants-to-marry-a-commoner/

I'm actually proud of heesu, he's matured into a fine man with a fine head on his shoulders, never expected seungwon to change so drastically (specially him drinking so much and stuff, but well they're young) but it pains me so much that heesu doesn't really smile lately. Heesu is a ball of sunshine and he'd do anything for seungwon and I know that it's not that seungwon doesn't care about heesu or that he doesn't love him anymore because I know he does but he really needs to reassure him and stop hiding stuff from him. He probably feels it's unnecessary telling him about hojin or other stuff for example, but keeping your lover in the dark is the WORST you could do specially when you don't even see each other as much and don't even share the same lifestyles (since they go to diff universities and have diff social circles as well). Heesu feels that wall and that distance, I'm honestly surprised seungwon hasn't realized how anxious and frustrated heesu's been feeling when it's so obvious, HEESU DOESN'T EVEN SMILE AT HIM! HOW MORE OBVIOUS CAN HE GET? For seungwon who's supposedly head over heels to be so oblivious about heesu it's honestly depressing, he honestly believes things are alright and keeps acting the same way while our baby heesu keeps hurting.
I can't say I'm not enjoying this because it will honestly help them mature in their relationship as they grow older but I didn't sign up for this angst ╥﹏╥

I love the tension that's rising, the genuine fluff between, and the heartbreaking past memories the duke carries with him.
I truly love he duke's character, it's very real and the fact that he's improved so much for Areum and because of her but keeps being him makes him a really good character. The pain he's been carrying his entire life for not knowing love, the pain and excitement of knowing love for the first time and being scared of losing it as well, and his usual yandere character vibes when realizing he's capable of keeping it forever by turning Areum into a vampire... that panel specially really gave me chills. Then the foreshadowing when Areum told him that 'doesn't he like her the way she is now?' while he's been drugging her with his blood and other stuff... goosebumps.
I'm genuinely scared and excited and that's something.
I can't wait to see what's going to happen next, with both the pills he's been giving her and the whole contract about the duke falling in love and stuff.

SPOILERS AHEAD
According to the novel, the spoilers I read at least, the comic has now gone in its own and isn't following the novel properly anymore, or is it still following it loyally?
From what I read, after the fireworks display, Athy decides to go home once more (she sneaks in, I've forgotten the reason why) and meets with Claude by accident. They talk, like actually talk and it's then that Claude decides to accept her even if he doesn't remember her. Time passes and it's Athy's birthday party when Lucas arrives, and grants her Claude's memories as birthday present. So from what I read, this whole "Jennette relieves Claude's pain" and her showing her gem eyes doesn't really go according to the novel, but maybe the spoilers weren't complete or were they wrong? Can someone who's read the novel spoil me properly??? (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
The comedy was perfect at the beginning, I never expected to be crying in the middle for my boys and much less to be crying of happiness in the end either. What a rollercoaster of emotions, and the art was absolutely majestic!!! I haven't seen such a defined style from a mangaka and such strong expressions either in a long while. It's become a favorite right away, I want more ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Oh and I forgot to mention jUST HOW GOOD THE SMUT WAS AS WELL, not that I needed to since it's pretty obvious but PLEASE GIVE IT A READ IF YOU'RE HESITATING!!!
