dude, why does everyone compare everything to solo levelling now? I have read stories that solo levelling is similar to way before solo levelling even releaser the first novel chapter. we know lots of western novels with topics like that who were insanely famous incomparable to solo levelling, as they were internationally on "bestsellers" for weeks. many many stories that had similar genre and essence of an mc who was a loser and rose to become a strong leading character who solved problems in order to understand himself and life and "safe something"....in a sense this story is even better, because the male lead has more substance than the one from solo levelling....he was very similar to the tomb raider guy...just that he has a mom and sister who make him seem more humane and then the romantic interest who is cool and cute...but anyway...solo levelling is cool, but definetliy should not be treated as some "non plus ultra ideal"...so annoying...you are not annoying, don?t get me wrong, just what you said is annoying....and i read this kinda comment in fucking any action/sci fi/fantasy manga or webtoon I read nowadays....reminds me of the kids who compared every fucking new anime to dragon ball....or any strong mc to son goku or something...like hello??? they did not patent this kinda shit...and this webtoon may have some basic similarities, but is definitely not "like solo levelling"

they compare animes to DBZ because it's one of the most (classic) popular anime. even if you're not that into anime you will at least hear about it.

i also wasnt degrading solo levelling? we know SL isnt the 'patent' but in my defense, i compared it bc SL's one of the popular ones at this genre rn. it's easier to get immersed to the newer manhwa bc of its similarity genre wise, but it's also a matter of preference... and i'm sure these people read synopsis so they know what they'll be reading.

what i enjoyed abt survival of the sword king is its artstyle and humor. the scenes give me adrenaline just like when i was reading SL, though the latter has fewer humorous tone. and both are equally enjoyable to read lol.

aaanndd SL is the first levelling manhwa ive read so i dont really have a lot of similar manhwas to compare it to lol i'd also appreciate suggestions.

i never said anything about degrading anything though, dunno where you got that. Just look around this website about anything similar to a male mc regressing in some way in an action based genre and you will see at least one comment saying " lol this is like solo levelling" "it gives me solo levelling feelings" "this is like a copy of solo levelling" that kinda stuff. most ridiculous was when i saw such comment under a webtoon that was published before solo levelling. it just got annoying, about seeing these overly excited fans who seem to compare everything to solo levelling now that it is one of the most anticipated webtoons right now. reminded me of star wars times when everything was compared to star wars. and like. i said every op mc in an anime was compared to son goku and stuff...it is different to say "you get as immersed as when reading solo levelling" or saying "it is like solo levelling". i get what you mean now that you explained further....even though you didn't have to....reading your comment seemed to just have been the last drop in my "solo levelling this and that" pot in my brain to make it overflow hahahaha....i read the novel of that 2 years ago and it really is a great plot...you get sucked into the story and all...the ending was kinda fucking meh in comparison to the whole 99% of the story...such an insane turn off...and later when i read other stuff about game like settings i realised the "flaws" in solo levelling more...like the mc who is actually pretty bland in character....and had no character development and we never really saw his internal monologue properly, about his thoughts and how he saw the world and how reality changed him and all the bad experiences...he suddenly just became like som grim reaper out there killing off all the stuff that stood in his way of achieving a "normal world" and understanding "the truth to do that"...in comparison to that this mc in this story has much more substance...we see him suffer, how he works hard to develop in power and then how he struggles and gets influenced from his experiences and how they shape him and his interactions with others is also much more "real" ? anyway... you are right this is in essecnce also a levelling up story....there are a lot out there right now though...you want the whole list?

i get your frustration but sometimes you just have to learn to ignore comments like that, and just read to your heart's content. hahaha to each of their own. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

It's not like SL at all, it's isekai and they barely go into dungeons and mc can hardly level up haha
