Right from the get go I knew prince man didnt have the chance of being the ML since by law of fantasy manga/manhwa, dark-haired and light-haired couples are destined.

Although there is Lan Zhan and Wei Ying, but even then their character color palettes are pretty diff from each other (light blue & dark reds). XD
I'm confused by the inheritance rules and shiz. Do they prioritize gender or birth order?????
Her father was younger than her aunt but he got to be heir cos he was male. She got to be heir because her dad was male? Wouldn't they prioritize her crazy aunt's two sons. Bruh these people are wack
I think if there a male in the family members, then that person will inherit the title no matter whether he is younger or older. So that's why her father inherit the title. Her aunt will be able to get the title if the her father is dead. But, her aunt then get married to other family before Avery's father died so then she is not eligible for the title. But, then the title will be inherit to the next in line only for his offspring when Avery's father died.. But in Avery's case, she was the only child of her father so automatically she inherit the title although she is a woman. But if she decline the title then it will be inherit to her nearest male cousin (which is the child of Avery's aunt.. in other words Mathew the 1st male grandchild of the duke).. But if Mathew decline it then, the title will go to the next male if there's one.. In this case, Benjamin is the 2nd son so supposedly he is the one that will inherent it, but he has done a crime so he also can't get the title.. So then the title supposedly will be inherit to the next child, but like usual male will be will be prioritize 1st. However the next in line is female which is Sophia. So Sophia able to inherit the title.
In other words the title of the duke will first inherit like the below
1. Male is prioritize (no matter if he has an older sister, the 1st son will get the title)
2. If no son were born, the 1st daughter is eligible for it (like Avery's case)
3. If the duke do not has any child or all of his child decline it, only then the title will be inherent to his siblings (male is prioritize). In other words, Avery's uncle Viscount Moldin.
Am I the only one who feels weird about this ML? Since we got to see him grow up and cheered him on throughout his childhood, I genuinely feel like he is my son hahahaha. I just can't see him in a romantically attractive way like other webtoons' ML. I just wish for my son and MC to end up happy! ╥﹏╥
My Happy Ending:
He Zhishu closes his eyes for the final time, and then opens them once more. His breathing is deeper and stronger, unlike the painfully weak and shallow thing it's been for the past year. His body feels as light as a cloud. It no longer feels heavy like an anchor ready to sink into a deep abyss. He's come back somehow. He Zhishu is back. A decade of hardship, love, betrayal, and love again are gone - just like that. He Zhishu has never felt so alive.
Gist of the story:
*He Zhishu wakes up to just after he and Wenxu arrive in Beijing.
*He leaves Wenxu and goes off to pursue his dreams. He Zhishu will become a doctor this time around. Jiang Wenxu, without any resources yet, is unable to find his fleeting lover.
*He Zhishu struggles, but his efforts ultimately off. He goes back home, and his reunion with his family is filled with tears, relieved sobbing, and tight embraces.
*Sometimes, in the dead of night, He Zhishu dreams of soft curls, gentle hands, and a loving smile.
*He gets lonely, but Zhishu's never been one to seek comfort from another. Though he does get plenty of offers, most even hoping for something beyond a night. He is thankful, but his heart is still firmly in the grasp of a man he has yet to meet.
*He Zhishu saves a couple of stray kittens by the side of the road. They make for great company. His heart feels a tiny bit less empty.
*On a regular day, he meets the young, new intern. Soft curls, gentle hands, and a friendly smile. He Zhishu hopes his smile does not betray the overwhelming love ready to barrel it's way out of his chest.
*Zhishu sees Dr. Ai mature and slowly come to be the man he fell in love with. He helps him through tougher days; he is there for him when he loses his first patient.
*Zhishu vows to make sure there will never be a moment this man will feel unloved. But first, he should check to see if he's free for dinner tomorrow. He recently heard the doctor's adopted a puppy. Hopefully, he's not too busy.
*And it all happened so quickly, Zhishu pulls back from their first kiss (of many, he promises), only to be greeted by the sight of fresh flowing tears.
"Ah," Zhishu smiles, "you made me wait quite a bit."
i completely hated him too. how could he sacrifice that level of love and commitment just to 'play or fool around'. it goes to show he didn't love him enough. it's funny he says all his effort in work is for the mc, but when he does have the money in the end, he goes and blows it on hoes. what a chad.
*crying manly ugly tears* THANK YOOOU!
Some of my frustrations were cleared by this. Especially those where he left Wenxu to pursue his dreams and his own hardships coming into fruition. Unlike what happened in the novel where he did not pursue medicine for Wenxu, he got the money from their previous boss to start a new business and be locked up inside the house by Wenxu, while Wenxu fucks others relentlessly then Zishu lives 2 years in agony and pain, before finally passing away with all his efforts coming to waste and left with 150,000. Damn, please continue this, maybe this can clear my thoughts regarding the original story as it broke me real hard that my heart literally aches every time I think of it (since 2018) hahaha. Thanks! I mean I'd also want to flex a pretend husband as handsome as that. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
