girl this isn't some sweet shoujo love story, this is set back in the older times. as a king, he has a duty, he's a great ml actually. he could have used his status to force Paulina to be his concubine but he never did. he respects and always finds a way to look out for her even if its in the distance. plus Paulina doesn't even like or love him. she's not hurt so why should you be so upset?

I addressed all this in my comment. I know he has a duty, and I know he isn’t a bad person because he didn’t force someone who didn’t like him to become his concubine, but I just can’t root for them to get together since he already has 3 wives that he is trying to get pregnant. And I didn’t say I didn’t want him to be show smitten, I think that’s adorable, but he shouldn’t be jealous since he is married and she doesn’t deserve to be the fourth wife who can’t even become empress since she’s infertile. After he got married, he should’ve stopped hoping for something more from her and been satisfied with their very close friendship, as Aito has told him multiple times.

And I read this because I didn’t want a super sweet and sugary shoujo manga. I’m starting to think that the author should push ML out of the romantic light and just into friendship. I love the relationship between MC and ML, I just think the romance shouldn’t be a part of it.

Honestly, he's way more of a narcistic cunt in the novel than compared to the webtoon but I can see why he's still disliked
