did you read it till the end? I understand about the first reason but the second,the third and the Fourth reason? King Darius is a good king at the first place.. the antagonists character here is the little brother because the little brother wanted the throne..Also the little brother's the one who made and spread 'the king of cruelty' rumor so that the people will hate the king.. About your third reason did you forget that Adele is an assassin? Assassin usually doesn't have feeling but still Adele got mad when Mahal didn't come back the next day.. She even wanted to take revenge because she thought Mahal was dead.. I think that's better rather than crying..She probably cry but maybe the author didn't show it..And the fourth reason why Mahal didn't tell Adele about she's free and in the castle is because she's staying in secret because she can't take a long journey.. The slaves who can't take a long journey stay at the castle as maid or something..That's the reason why she can't tell Adele because she's afraid if someone's eavesdropping or something.. Besides that time Adele is still at the king's little brother's side..
