This is by no means a spoiler or anything but it was mention that the curse only activated once the saintess power reach its limit/at its peak so it doesnt mean that the curse started 7 years ago. IT is also kinda explained the saintess reaction when the ML said he want to kill over whoever have had sex with the saintess and she was just confused -because there is no one before him. ANd the fact that the other two priest said the saintess has prepared for a long time (suggesting that this is not a monthly or regular thing) and all the lengthy explanation on why they use death row inmates makes me believe that this is the first time it happened because otherwise it would be some weird to explain it like that.
