Honestly at this point i would find it more weird if people with high status is not manipulative, especially tittles like crown prince or princess.
Yea I understand why people don't like manipulation, but also she's (FL) using it too, in order to change the future. The princess is just more cunning and desperate, since its revealed her children's lives are in her brother's hands, along with the fate of the country. She'll do anything to get back what's hers.
