all this violence in the comments at this new character while i’m here just she pretty brain goes brrr brrrr

The constant hate comments towards characters in the chapters are seriously so annoying. I honestly, truly, wholeheartedly couldn't care less about what you think of the characters or plot decisions Mizuho Kusanagi is making. Go off to your own personal accounts and spaces and diss whichever character you feel like dissing, don't make the readers see it too.

Any kind of reactions from the translators within the chapters are annoying, but if they're hate comments it's even more so. So yeah, really fucking annoying.

Also I’ve seen many comments kind of implying that King Il didn’t in fact have many screws loose and I’m????? He WAS a religious fanatic, we DID go a bit crazy for a while, the things he did and how he did them (especially regarding Yonhi) were NOT okay. What this chapter shows is him repenting, which is super cool to see and it ties very neatly with the King Il we saw in the first chapter. But please for the love of Yona don’t go back to square one as if this whole arc never happened!

Being a religious fanatic is better than a person massacring hundreds of people because you dislike them. That's exactly what YuHon is.

But the king did killed a lot more people than his brother, he practically cursed all his citizens to sicknesses, poverty, human trafficking, drugs and so on, his brother may have fought for territory nut the king ll chose not to fight at all, not for his people nor his country, Causing serious consequences for his people. So which one do you think that would mave make a better king? Il or his brother ? Mind u that Am not asking which one is better person but a better king? The first one go to war to gain more land and the second one does nothing, literally does nothing while other countries are stealing his lands, mistreating his people and even slaving them, he does nothing bc he is a coward, so which is a better king?

I never said Yuhon was any better though? I think the whole point of this arc, besides finally giving us that backstory, was to show the dark side of these two characters. Of course massacring a group of people, even if he had the ““reason”” of ““““protecting”””” Yonhi, is what a madman would do. I just meant that I hope people won’t go back to square one when we hadn’t seen this side of King Il and forget that he was at one time a very selfish man who made lots of mistakes.

Hmmm, I’m not really sure Yuhon would’ve made a better king tbh maybe the country would be stronger in a political standpoint, but I think the way Yuhon would’ve dealt with any internal opposition in Kouka wouldn’t be that of a “good king”.

But of course, Il was not suited to be king either, and I totally agree with you that he put his country through many hardships because of his incompetency, and like it or not all the different situations we’ve seen throughout the story are in a way his responsibility. So yeah.

But like, I’d even dare say they’re already canon??? I mean the way Mizuho Kusanagi has slowly been developing their mutual feelings throughout the story, to the point where Yona has returned Hak’s feelings, and his own feelings are stronger now; they have both confessed, they both KNOW they have both confessed. So why do you say “if it’s not HakYona” what makes anyone think there’s a different endgame??

I’ve always thought there was a lot more to Kashi’s death than some bandits killing her, and now I’m 99% sure about it. Soo-won said King Il killed his father, Yu-hon, so I always thought these two events were obviously related, but AND THIS IS BIG THEORY TIME THERE’S ABOSLUTELY NO PROOF ABOUT THIS WHATSOEVER but now seeing how Yo-hon was and how Il was it makes me wonder what (if it really was that way) led Yo-hon to kill Kashi. Maybe.... maybe there’s something about Yona’s birth? (not implying Kashi isn’t her mother, even though that can’t be fully discarded either, but still not what I think). Idk maybe they did something so that Yona was Hiryuu’s reincarnation? I have no idea and I can’t wait to see that Kusanagi-sensei has planned.

where do they talk about kashi and her death in previous chapters, if you don't mind telling

nonamenoshame May 21, 2020 11:58 am

I think some people wont give this arc enough consideration just for thinking it’s meant to “justify Soo Won”. Like, regardless if you like him or not, or think he can be forgiven or not, this is the real backstory to the whole thing, so I wish people would consider it as such. We’re finally getting the full picture yall, and it’s looking great!!!

does anyone remember if it was said in recent chapters that Nora's name was 'Mizuko'??? I don't know where I got this idea from, but now I can't find it anywhere so maybe I just made it up akdhdakdhsjsh

    avocuddletoast April 6, 2020 11:02 pm

Not Mizuko but Mizuchi, but I made a comment a while back mentioning Mizuko. Mizuchi has it's own meaning, but root word Mizu meaning water. Mizuko is the name water child/stillborn/abortion. Because of how the fetus looks, Eastern myth compares unborn children to sea creatures. Also fetuses basically live in water before being born. All these shinki are people who've died in misery and regret, Nora never had a chance to grow up into a girl like Hiyori and was jealous of that. Nora is most likely an aborted baby.
