I thought it was more along the lines of him being a psycho so obsessed with Jian that he wants to see him being ruined to pick him back up when he has no one else.
Him saying he wants Jian to forget Jitae also made sense with this narrative because he doesn't want Jian to care about him.

Thatās why I want him to be happy. Heās using drugs and sex to makeup for whatever is happening in his life. Yeah he likes it but a bigger part of it is to drown out his misery and to rebel against his evil wack ass mom who we find out made Jian with a rando instead of Jitaeās dad.
I donāt think thereās anything wrong with enjoying sex, but Jian isnāt even addicted to it. Heās addicted to drugs, and the stimulants in those drugs cause arousal, forcing him to have sex to release the tension. The author hasnāt revealed Jianās past or how he got involved with drugs, but for now, his addiction is getting worse because Hajoon keeps secretly increasing his doses.
The author has confirmed that everything Jian has done so far is just to self-destruct and to prevent Hajoon from touching Jitae (as shown in Chapter 19). The author even mentioned that if Jian didnāt use drugs, heād find it hard to have sex at all. So yeah, Jian isnāt doing this because he enjoys it.
I think instead of it being his hobby he uses it to cope with what he's feeling and as a way to rebel against his mother, he seems like he's passively suicidal and purposely self sabotaging himself with these vices. It's not like he's a happy character, he's always drawn to look somber and from the dialogues and from what we know from this chapter of his abuse we could guess there's something else going on deeper inside with him.
Hajoon also keeps actively encouraging his addiction, last time Jian didn't want to take the drugs but Hajoon insisted and practically barged in too. One time before it was shown that Jian had a crazy headache and he didn't even know what he took, so I think Hajoon has a way bigger role than we've seen yet with Jian's situation. He's essentially using Jian as a lab rat to test his new drugs.
Itās super different when itās the author specifically saying it and the readers reading about it in the manhwa, bc nowhere in there explains jians thoughts or experiences with drugs/sex. Itās hard to not judge his character when his whole story isnāt revealed yet, and itās also unfair to assume we as readers know these things and can feel sympathy for him as the author hasnāt specified anything in the manhwa and instead explained it through another platform. Iām looking forward to Jianās backstory, but for now heās not in the forefront of my interest or my sympathy within the storyās plot atm

I just wanted to clarify that itās not simple a messe up āhobbyā like you said. Aside from drugs, I donāt think being interested in consensual sexual activities is inherently wrong, but letās just agree that everyone has their own views.
If you read the story, itās clear that for the Baek brothers, sex is merely a coping mechanism for their trauma. For Jitae, itās obvious that he needs someone by his side to fall asleep. As for Jian, just looking at how his crazy mother treated him is enough to understand. And as I pointed out in Chapter 19, the author gave a very blatant hint that Jian only connects with Hajoon when itās related to Jitae. So, this isnāt some out-of-context detailāitās quite clear how much Jian cares about Jitae.
Iām not trying to paint Jian as some innocent or pitiable victim, because he definitely has his own schemes. His actions, like threatening and kidnapping Mieumās father to push Mieum towards Jitae, are inexcusable (at least for now). So, Iām not surprised if people dislike Jian. I just enjoy analyzing and discussing controversial characters. Apologies if I made you uncomfortableāI genuinely just wanted to explain.
