Not sure if anyone has posted these, I only went back a couple of pages on the topics and didn't see any, but I thought I'd share some of the scanlations of what sensei has posted on twitter for KD - and in particular Kudo and Miyauchi. AFAIK, these are taken from sensei's twitter and translated by the respective groups/people I have linked. Please support the manga-ka if you can by following her on twitter and thank the scanlators if possible.
She's scanlated a couple of other twitter comics for KD, so check out her tumblr page for more:

I know it's small consolation given one of our favorite manga has ended, but if you follow sensei on twitter, she occasionally draws little comics about their lives https://twitter.com/k_ickw (just sort through her media tab). Sometimes she draws mini comics, sometimes it's art about the characters. Although it's not a lot, it definitely keeps a bit of their story alive. She's drawn a lot of twitter comics for BSC, but most of it hasn't been scanlated/translated. I'm thinking of putting a request to the scanlation group to see if they'll consider scanlating the twitter comics.
A cursory search on the web tells me the literal meaning of yaoi is "no climax, no resolution/point, no meaning," yamanashi ochinashi iminashi. I recall it now because it was a talking point in the community a couple years back. Some argued against it's continued use in the Western BL fandom vernacular because the Japanese use it to mock the genre as a whole. But to get to the point, from how I understand it (anyone correct me if I'm wrong), the word is made in reference to a BL's story structure because it centers around sex and therefore has no climax (to the story, harhar), no resolution, and therefore no meaning. It's the latter part that always comes to mind when I read manga where the issue of men being together is ostensibly brought up as being "pointless or meaningless," and often times by the main characters themselves.
I find it ironic that the meaning of the word refers to the story structure, but uncannily enough it often seems to reflect culturally on the conservative views held by the Japanese about gay relationships. I'm sure some of you all have read manga where a conflict arises and one of the protagonists inevitably says something along the lines, "we're both men, there's no point to this relationship." I always want to interject and say, "no, there is a point. There's love, there's companionship, there's family even if it doesn't result in progeny." I find it frustrating, but predicatable, that Akira subscribes to this thinking, and I wonder sometimes if manga-kas view homosexual relationships in this same light or if they're just parroting Japanese societal expectations. Keep in mind that I'm not accusing manga-kas of homophobia, but I do often wonder how much is a reflection of their views and how much is just observation.
This manga makes me an emotional mess, but the me that's engrossed can't stay away. At least I have other people to cry along with.
Holy crap, that was beautifully written... :')
So I get that he can copy someone else's sexual desires, but what for? What's wrong with his own sexual desires?
Maybe it's like having sex, since he doesn't need to touch himself to get all excited and feel the hands rubbing etc.
It may be just laziness, easier to let the other person do to "work" for you, and just enjoy the ride!
Plus since he has that power, then why not use it? Since he can't get rid of it either.
Oh, I could think of a couple of a reasons why not...huge invasion of privacy, not having control of when these sexual urges do take over you because it's connected to the other person. I think it'd be easier to just experience and satisfy your own sexual desires, unless his sexual desire is to vicariously experience other people's sexual climaxes (which is kind of creepy in of itself).
And unless he's admitted that he's gay, it's kind of odd that he'd choose to experience other male's most intimate moments. No matter the gender, they're still different individuals and in a way it's a sexual experience involving the other person as well. So it could be construed as having sex with the other person, too.
Eh, oh well, I'm not taking it too seriously since this is BL, but this has to be the most yaoi-ish plot I've come across yet, lol.
This is in reference to your remark thinking that it was kind of odd that he'd choose to experience male's most intimate moments unless he's gay - think about it. He may only allow eye-contact for men he thinks don't have intimate relationships going on with other people, but that satisfy themselves (and maybe he's thinking that they satisfy themselves by means of a straight mind-set, or men that are in relationships with women).
He said before he didn't like copying girls, and acknowledged one of the reasons is because they usually want something inside of them to climax (which she did, thus he experienced insertion in the only place he can [his ass]), whereas a male just jerks himself off or inserts it into someone else without taking it themselves.
I don't think it's like he's experiencing sex with the other person per-se (which would be ten-fold more weird/disgusting if you allowed yourself to stare at animals knowing what could happen), just that he's experiencing the arousal and pleasure they're feeling simultaneously as though what's happening to them is instead happening to him.
When he looked at the cat and sent it off initially assuming it was a male, he questioned if the cat was actually female, which proved to be problematic. Because the cat was female and went into heat for the specific purpose of reproduction, he couldn't stop himself from feeling the same desire to be "impregnated", hence he said it allowed to the only person there to hear the "mating cry".
TL;DR - He doesn't experience the sexual desires/pleasures as though he's with who he copies, but experiences it as though he IS them. Therefore, the fact he is partial to copying specific men means he is partial to penetrating rather than being penetrated (hence his discomfort when the girl he copied decided to insert into herself, and his questioning if the cat was actually female).
No, I did understand that part as well, which is why I mentioned that he was vicariously experiencing someone else's very intimate and private moment. Well, in this case, I guess it wouldn't be technically be vicarious since he's directly feeling their sensations. I'm just confused to the intent of his doing so and why. Given that he's simultaneously experiencing their sexual moments, I, again, question why he needs to do so when he should have his own sexual desires, no?
The only difference between getting off himself and living someone else's sexual moment is the inclusion of another person. Does he get off trying to be a creep and intruding on another individual's moment of climax (when he seems perfectly capable of doing so himself) or is there some part of him that secretly enjoys having a partner in crime when this moment of climax occurs?
Ah well, it's not really a big deal. I just find the plot device to be a little too yaoi logic driven. No offense to anyone who likes the premise, of course. I still like Sachimo and hope to see more scanlations of her other works, I just don't think I can get into this one.
Ah, if it's a reasoning you're looking for, I'm afraid you won't find it here. The only one you'd get is why he chooses not to copy his friend/neighbor.
Personally, if I had that ability, I'd do it just because I wouldn't have to use anything to climax LOL I could just hang and enjoy the ride. I can't speak for anyone else, but I probably wouldn't even be thinking of the person I copied during that experience unless they were there and I could touch them physically, otherwise my senses would be soo overloaded that I would just block out the thought.
I've seen the raws up to the end and, while there is a cutesy relationship involved, it is basically just a yaoi.
Hehe, well, I mean for a straight guy, there's nothing much else to use but his hand, right? lol. I could kind of understand why this would be easier, but at the same time, he can't seem to control when this occurs, so he's at the mercy of the other person and when they do get off, so it could be awfully inconvenient in that respect. And you know, the whole intrusion of privacy and everything...
You're right, there could possibly be more to it and why he has this power and why he has to use it. Guess we'll just have to wait and see (though I'll probably be checking out on this one). Thanks for the discussion :D
Thanks to the scanlation group working on this. Since you guys don't have an official page, I just wanted to point out that there seems to be two missing pages at the end of this chapter. I'm not sure if you're working with tank or magazine scans, so it might be different in the magazine, but the tank shows that there are two pages in this chapter before it gets to chapter 6.5. Just wanted to let you know or maybe you were adding it to the next release. Anyway, many thanks again for working on this manga!
I discussed this with Shosuke Yuu, one of our translators, and we came to an agreement that there isn't any pages missing. You are probably thinking that the two pages that follow up Chapter 6 are part of it, but actually they are part of Chapter 6.5 (I know, this is confusing but their context is clearly part of Chapter 6.5 and NOT part of Chapter 6). We use Tankoubon scans (I buy them digitally to avoid the tedious scanning process). Later we will start to use magazine scans once we catch up with the latest chapters (this won't happen anytime soon though, with our curent speed it will take months to get there).
Ah, okay. Some mangas do this and it's a bit confusing, I'll admit. I assumed they were part of chapter two and that the cover page with 6.5 marked the beginning of chapter 6.5. I was going to wait until the next scanlated chapter to see if maybe this was the case, but I figured I'd ask anyway. Thanks for the clarification!
When I checked mangaupdates today, I was elated to see that there was a massive release for this series. I knew from experience that the likelihood of the scanlation being high quality was low seeing as it was a bulk release, but I had hoped against hope that at the very least it was someone who could at least competently translate from Japanese or at worst maybe someone translating from Chinese. Upon opening the first chapter, it was letdown from the get go. I'm not finicky about scanlations when I'm in the obvious position of "beggars can't be choosers." However, not only was the translation poor, the scans were also terrible (all that ugly censorship, no real cleaning or even uncensored raws to make up for the translations). And then after having visited the scanlator's page, she admits that she's using google translate and guessing with her translations. That's not even real translating as far as I'm concerned.
I know her intentions are good, but scanlations like hers can only do bad. No group will want to pick it up after having seen that there's someone else who has already done some work on it, regardless of the quality. Unless a devoted lone wolf type scanlator comes along, the chances are low that anyone else will want to pick it up. And that means we'll be stuck with the piss poor quality of google translated manga. I know we're all in a desperate position to read this manga (for those who do like it), but I think we should at least try to expect a modicum of quality. There is none of that here; this scanlation is rife with poor grammar, bad translations, and LQ scans. If she had at least one of those three going, I wouldn't be so quick to complain, but seeing a series that I've been wanting to see translated for such a long time get this kind of treatment is upsetting.
Srsly ppl stop being an asshole! It's not the best translation out there but at least she did it her best. If you think she's bad, make her stop the scanlation isn't the solution! You're not helping at all! If you think the grammar is bad why don't you become her proof reader, huh?? Instead of that, you're here preaching about bad translation and being rude without doing anything at all
And for the translator-san, please do not stop your translation because these asshat! And it's the more reason for you to continue your works. I know translation is not the easiest thing, I've done it myself.
Don't mind these oh-so-great-holier-than-thou bitches!
basically you are bashing the people who tried their best because you got your hopes up when you saw this got updated.
HA, even mentioning japanese raws or retranslating from chinese.
can you even differentiate japanese and chinese, and then simplified chinese or not? just asking, pure curiosity.
@Lint @Chriskaylex @lena15
NO ONE BOTHERED TO PICK THIS MANGA FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS!!
If a team wanted to, they would've done it already but they didn't. She didn't stop them from picking it up.
This manga would have just gone into the abyss without ever being translated or at least left alone a few more years before being picked up.
This nice person was kind enough to pick up the series because she loved it and wished to share it with everyone else. She did everything by herself and is a complete newbie so she's bound to make mistakes. The quality is not crispy clean but it's not as bad you're making it to be. If you genuinely want a better scanlation, then offer your help.
There's never uncensored raws, they are always censored(including Doujinshi) because of Japan's strict censorship laws. In some works the censorship is not as bad as others. If the censorship is bad, that's not the translator's fault.
The only reason some mangas on here are uncensored is because the scanlation teams took their time to redraw all the censored scenes(even then some ppl are still ungrateful).
If you say the translations are inaccurate or terrible, you must be saying this since you can understand the source material. Then why don't help out the translator or translate it yourself. If you say that the quality is terrible, then you buy the manga, scan it, level it, dust it, clean it and redraw all of the censored scenes all by yourself.
If you can't do any of that or at least attempt to then shut up and don't read it.
You are ungrateful and now because of people like you, this manga will be dropped again and never picked up again because when someone bothered to, all they received was shit comments like yours.
Never in my comments did I say she should stop, she can continue (which she has) to do her scanlations, but it won't change the fact that her translation was poor initially. I expressed criticism in her scanlation, which is well within my rights, and my problem wasn't with just the grammar. There's no point in fixing bad grammar if the translation isn't accurate to begin with. If she needed help proofreading, she could ask and I'm sure people would apply or help. It seems that criticism has given her cause to search out people to help, which has worked better in the long run. Do you think people learn or get better without criticism?
Do you think google translate is a translation? Seriously? Like I SAID, if she was using her own translation skills - even if it was beginner or intermediate - I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM. At the very least, I would know she had some knowledge or skill to try to interpret the language. Google translate is NOT a reliable source of translation if you aren't familiar with the language. Do you think that some standard should be held for something you enjoy or like?!?!
I can differentiate between Chinese and Japanese raws and I'm familiar enough with the scanlation community to recognize when someone is using Chinese scans. I can tell when something is being translated in Mandarin or Japanese, although Japanese uses Chinese characters in kanji, but that's easy enough to differentiate as Japanese characters are always included with the kanji. And that's besides the point, my point is that there is still a lot of skill required within translating and meaning can be lost translating from one language to another. Translating from Japanese to Chinese and then Chinese to English will doubly ensure that something gets lost along the way. Ideally, it's the worst way to translate, but at least you're getting the core of the meaning. Google translate lacks all of that because there is no person to sit there and gauge nuance and try to give interpretation to meanings or sayings. When a character says I hate you but really said, I hate it, don't you think there is a difference in meaning? If you're judging a character solely based on their actions and their conversation then everything they say matters and counts. I know some of you guys don't care (obviously since none of you bothered to read enough to understand my point), but I do care to some degree. I'm not asking for fluent Japanese translation here; I think my bar has always been pretty low, but I draw the line at google translate!
It doesn't matter if it hasn't been picked up in two years, there's many projects that languish and later get picked up by groups. I'm not asking for perfection or fluency, I'm only asking for a very low level of competency - namely not google translate. Read my replies and you'll see where I'm coming from. I have no problem with the person who tried to do this as she was obviously well-intentioned, and I have no problems with people who are obviously new to scanlating (I've read scanlations for many years and have encountered just as bad, if not worse, and never complained). WHAT I DID SAY was that it was the COMBINATION of all three factors that really did it in. I wouldn't have cared if her scans were Chinese or censored to death if there was at least a degree of translation accuracy that came from HER - whether it be beginner or intermediate. And yes I am very aware of how the censorship works and I'm aware of the law.
I mean, seriously, how low is the bar set for some of y'all? I'm well within my rights to criticize and there really is nothing I can do about bad translation because I can't translate but I can sure as hell use google translate, but there's a reason why I don't. If I understood the source material, I obviously wouldn't be here but I see the strawman you're building. Doing guesswork based on google translate should not be considered TRANSLATION, THAT'S THE POINT.
I won't even get into the last argument because you obviously know nothing about me, but I've been reading scanlations a long time and I'm familiar enough with the process to know and appreciate the time and work people put into scanlations. And I also know when I'm within my rights to voice a complaint and criticism, as well. Again, keep building your straw men, but next time read what I have to say and address my real concerns.
And I just want to say one last thing; I have read that the original translator found someone to translate this project and I'm glad that she remains enthusiastic about the project and loves it enough to want to do it justice. My comments weren't meant to negatively bash her, but just the methods she went about working on this project.
For the people who commenting on the rape and rating an [incomplete] work based on one chapter, please take note of the tags and notice the RAPE tag just in case you didn't see it there or in the comments or the discussions. Don't like, don't read. I'm not usually one for romance based on non-con or rape, but like View Finder, this manga seems to really dole out the rape in the first chapter and the rest seems (and please let me stress the SEEM part) to be consensual. I'm only basing this one what I've seen in raws and there seems to be a lot of lovey-dovey moments down the road. I personally enjoy adoring, dog-like seme characters and I will be looking forward to its future installments.
Just look at Top Tags in the right side of the page.
Okay, guess I'll be the one to post the dissenting opinion because I think uke-san's actions throughout the manga were both cowardly and selfish. Sakai (uke's name, I think) wants seme-san (sorry I can't remember their names) to have a normal life, and he thinks he's doing the best thing for his lover by making this sacrifice, though he's letting his insecurities guide his decision. A relationship involves two people and you don't get to break up with someone without letting them have some say in the matter, and to do so when the other is at a significant disadvantage (the amnesia) is quite cold.
Seme-san can't help his amnesia (so why the heck did he need to apologize?) and had I been in his shoes I would have been furious with Sakai once I remembered. Seme-san spent the entire manga chasing after Sakai, putting himself out there for rejection, and Sakai couldn't be remotely brave enough to do the same for someone he loves. Sorry, but seme-san deserved better.
Well he apologized for forgetting.... It's a medical cause though or maybe he apologized because he made the Uke feel insecure by being all happy about a new born which they'd never be able to conceive together?
Imagine a straight guy waking up from an accident where he lost his memory to tell him your lover is a man and congrats you're gay and will probably never have a family and never get married, it would be also a gamble. I think the Uke made the right decision to hide the truth from him
Honestly, even though I loved this manga, I agree with you. The kind of plot line where one character decides what's best for the other while disregarding the opinion and feelings of his partner, quite frankly irritate me. This one is one of the exceptions where I loved the manga but that part still bothered me. I think the reason I enjoyed it was because it was mixed with the amnesia plot line and the fact that we get the seme's POV instead of the uke's endless angsting. (● ̄(エ) ̄●)
However, these are both things that weren't in the seme's control. He can't help losing his memories and he shouldn't be punished for seeing someone's newborn? Is he supposed to avoid all babies? Be sullen and cold towards someone's child? He can't read minds, so if Sakai had insecurities, he should have talked it through with his partner so that he could assuage and reassure him about their relationship. He gave him a ring; something that represents a lifetime commitment and I'm sure he knew that they wouldn't be able to have children. It's his decision and Sakai should have respected his partner enough to know that his lover gave him that ring knowing what being in a same-sex relationship would entail.
I think that's one way to look at it, but Sakai shouldn't have made that decision for seme-san. He should have either given him time to adjust to his injury and then tell him or stay in his life and see how the seme would have felt towards him. He should have at least tried is what I'm trying to say and he should have respected his lover enough to allow him to make his own decision. Sakai took the easy way out, IMO.
Yes! It's a common trope in BL, and usually not one that bothers me (depending on how it's handled). I'm not usually the type to rant about realism etc. in BL, but I think it irked me so much this time around because the effort and contribution of this relationship was so one-sided from the get-go. Seme-san does all the chasing, loses his memories, and still has to make the grand gesture at the end. I usually enjoy a good amnesia plot, but this one didn't do it for me, unfortunately. Thanks for your thoughts!
Gotta agree with everyone here and say I'm a little disappointed at how this was resolved. No offense to the scanlator/translator, but I think maybe some of the meaning got lost in translation. I think there was more nuance to their conversation, but it didn't get fully conveyed. As is, I felt that the conclusion to the brother arc was much more satisfying and romantic when Keichii told Shingo that he wanted to love him in all the ways you couldn't love a family member. It felt so right; as if everything had come full circle for them. I mean this arc is essentially their marriage arc and it fell so flat. Keichii was basically speaking his vows and yet it ends with all this talk about bullying, bleh. I didn't really care for Keichii's initial cold reaction either; I understand they're broken up but he goes through all this trouble of leaving the ring for Shingo and telling his nephew to tell Shingo that he's loved everyday. That's the action of man still deeply in love, and a man who would have been elated to see Shingo at first sight. I guess I'm being picky, she tends to write them in sadist/masochist manner sometimes, but I much prefer the lovey-dovey over the bullying the one you love trope. Anyway, glad to see them back together, hopefully the next chapter will be a little bit more satisfying.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thinks so. For me the main point of this arc was to see the couple as equals. This ending made it seem as if Keichi still has the upper hand in the relationship. Shingo was on the verge of a complete breakdown while, it seemed to me that Keichi still somewhat maintained his ground. I wasn't expecting the outcome to occur so soon at this chapter. Sensei could have made much better use of this angst to explore both characters.
Does anyone know what happened to the group's website? Went to go download the chapter and saw that their site was gone...again. Anyone know if they have any other social media I could check?
If you were following the page you should have seen the new release under feeds. Well either way here is the new link
Pinksakurascans.wordpress.com
Make sure you follow and subscribe to the page to see releases as soon as they are out
Ah okay, thanks for the link. I didn't see the release because I don't usually use wordpress or really know how to tbh. I just bookmark all the scanlator sites and go to them when I see their releases on MU. I like to support all the scanlation groups, but don't have the time in the day to familiarize myself with every platform they're available on beside tumblr where a majority of groups are on.
Try to familiarise yourself with RSS. Most scanlator groups have rss feeds and you can always be notified whenever they update without switching between platforms. I recommend Feedly as the RSS reader, together with some feedly notification-thing extension in the google chrome webstore (if you're using Chrome anyway) if you don't like regularly checking out a website/account. I think there are other free* RSS readers available for other web browsers tho, if you're not using Google Chrome? Free RSS readers that won't require you to make an account, I mean and just let you install it as an browser extension or something.
*Feedly is free, by the way. It's just that you have an option to upgrade to a subscription I think? But basic account is totally free.
Ah, thanks for the advice! I know a lot of people seem to use RSS, but I've just been too lazy to really learn how and have only a vague idea how it's used. I'll do a google search and familiarize myself with it when I get the chance, thank you! I don't use Chrome btw, I use Firefox, is Feedly available to use on there?
I'm not very sure since I'm not a Firefox user, but from what I understand, many chrome extensions are available in versions that can be installed/used in Firefox? And don't worry about Feedly not working on Firefox. Feedly is actually a website (maybe a web app) even though it's an RSS reader. You can worry about having a browser extension after you get the hang of it, or if you would rather than having to check your feeds by visiting the website every other day.
But you know, since you're using Firefox, you have other options. Firefox has this thing called "Live Bookmarks" -- it has always been a part of Firefox so you don't need to install anything, (add-on or app or whatever) and you don't need to create an account or anything. All you have to keep in mind is keeping your bookmarks toolbar organized -- create a new folder in your bookmarks and save all your rss subscription in that folder so it won't be so cluttered.
And then another option is this RSS reader add-on, Feedbro: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/feedbroreader/
This one's automatic stuff (once installed) : you click on the page/manga/blog's RSS link and click on the Feedbro icon. Choose 'Find feeds in current tab' and 'Subscribe' then you're done. Feedbro doesn't show up in the list ( http://www.mangago.zone/home/photo/2864980/) so, you subscribe like this: http://www.mangago.zone/home/photo/2864986/#image
This is all incredibly informative, I'll look over both alternatives and decide which one works best for me, thank you so much!
