Enomoto is so much better right now, and I'm fucking thankful for this bratty, sleepy character for alwayd interrupting that teacher whenever he's questioning Ren. Don't get me started with him looking out for Ren but being all "I just happened to be there sleeping," imo I like his relationship ten times more than Haru's with Ren. But that doesn't mean I dislike the manga in any way, so read between the lines before attacking lmao pls-

this manga pisses me off so much, like-
I absolutely adore the author and this manga is great, but sometimes I just feel like it's missing something. Whether it's the lack of knowledge from Ren's part or Haru's way of thinking, there's just something missing. I wish Ren's past gets explained eventually and rather detailed, since his way of thinking is rather absurd as it is, I hope it gets well explained; Ren's way of loving is scary and blind. He's blinded and that bother's me. Yes, I get it for plot reasons we need him to be this way and so the character will eventually grow into something better and I really hope Ren does because I know there is so much more to these characters like him. And the author knows what they're doing but I just hngg
it s my way of thinking and I truly apologize for attacking the author or the manga or idk but like I can't put this into words properly and I hope someone understands what I mean bc I'm troubled as heckಥ⌣ಥ
I think I understand what you mean, but I don't entirely agree or see it the same way. IMO, although to us (the readers) it seems like they both love each other in a way we understand and define love. It is technically mutual. But it's not as clear or as simple in their heads, especially not Ren's cuz he doesn't see love the way most ppl (like Haru) does. I think the something missing you mean is the disconnect between their mutual feelings. Although it's technically mutual, and they're together, they're not at the same time. Cuz their minds are not in the same place. There's disconnect between them and we're still waiting for it to be resolved.
I don't think Ren's way of loving is blind or completely black and white. He is a very smart and mature kid and he knows Haru and the ppl he encounters regularly really well. I think he doesn't understand ppl's love FOR him. I think his love for others is clear and normal; he knows what he wants and will do what he can to get it. And he feels similarly to "normal" people when they love. E.g not wanting to share Haru, jealousy, etc
I think it's just the mangaka's storytelling style. Abe Miyuki has always been cryptic in his/her romance, even I am surprised to ever find a love confession or any sexual scene in Super Lovers. But things will eventually unfold, but still in that slow and cryptic manner (just like in Komahoshi)
I see what you mean and I respect that, but when I say "blind" what I want to carry out it's his way of showing it(??? how do I put this in words lmao)

In the last chapter, or update, Ren quickly tries to fix it or apologize for what he did, to Haru. And I'm not saying that's wrong, but it's almost like he doesn't have pride when it comes to Haru.
I wouldn't have apologized as quickly to be honest, I would've let it float around until it disappeared. But I feel like ,sorry for repeating, Ren's way of thinking is the way it is for some unknown reason that is connected to his yet to be explained past.
I tried responding twice, when I realized the first two replies were yours hmm qwq
I hope this one makes more sense??? as to what I mean at, Or what I understand qwq
I think it has to do with him being scared of abandonment... maybe.
And Haru doesn't like that either, he wants Ren to be sure of his love for him, but it is difficult, Ren is difficult...
-----
Ohh I think I understand what you mean better now. I see what you mean, what worries me too, is his reasoning behind saying sorry. He was very desperate. He always is. I know he's really insecure and fearful, we see it all the time. But i'm not sure why. It could have to do with his past, we don't know why (yet?)
http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/super_lovers/mf/v01/c001/22/ maybe this will helps?. Ren probably traumatized by being left out from his parents. Love become a Scary topic for Ren... he can't trust adults because he was betrayed before. However he fall in love with Haru which also has the same insecure issues lol. Both of them quite the same anyway.
It is likely that he was mistreated and that his past, whatever it is, affects him greatly even now. He is terrified of being abandoned. We see this, he's scared of Haru leaving him. I can respect that it doesn't worry you, but it's worrisome for me. I don't think I'm not paying attention or that there are plot holes. I think Ren is understandable, his actions/behaviour etc, even if we don't necessarily know the full details as to why he's like this. But we know what he is like. That he is like this now. I just want him to learn how to move forward from this
Sure :)
I said: It's like Ren wants to please Haru without caring about his pride [I was using the same concept as @patatita azul], because he is afraid of Haru leaving him (he thinks of it as a fact from the future: "he won't be with me forever", he won't forgive me everytime"), and that's why he doesn't want to trouble him.
Haru dislikes this too, he is worried about Ren holding himself back to not bother him, and that's why he tells him that he loves him and won't leave him.
Then @Tolly said: Ren is a practical person, it's not that he is throwing his pride through the window, but he didn't consider it like that [thought of it like that]. He would simply do anything so that Haru won't abandon him, we already saw it when he tried to sleep with Natsu.
And I replied: Yes, I agree with you about the pride and the way Ren understands stuff, although, even if he sees it as a way to stay with Haru, his behaviour can be perceived as condescending [condescending seems to have a different meaning in Spanish: it is like willingness, but I will say not in a positive way].
First of all i accidentally clicked annoying and I can't get rid of it, so I'm sorry about that. And second of all thanks for translating :) Regardless of what one calls his behaviour, Ren's actions are fueled by desperation and fear. And I wouldn't call it a good thing either, because it isn't. He doesn't think of pride or dignity the way we do. He's not embarrassed or ashamed of his own willingness to do anything and everything to keep Haru. It's his mentality. I hope we get to see him start to see that he doesn't have to go such lengths or extremes. That it's unnecessary and that he is loved, even without going that far or doing all those things.
HOLY FUCJ WHAT THE FUXK OMG
