So What's the bet on the resolution? I am betting around 20 chapters before they end up in typical toxic love love era where ML remains the asshole that he is with Dan once again behinding over for microscopic amount of basic human decency because "he saved him from committing suicide". Given how clichéd this whole thing has been, another one of my bet would be grandma's death in this season which would get them closer in the long run. The only time Dan will move to seoul would be when Dan no longer has any attachments left in the place, to maybe cling on to the very feeble attachment he has with ML. Depressed people do a long of things to keep going because of how hard it usually is.
I am just reading to see how bad it could get lol. Anyone else like me who just wants to enjoy the "immeasurable possibility of redemption without the rape a d humiliation" can start at the 3rd season like me, the plot is very basic so you can skip everything and still follow along fine. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Your perspectives on the outcome of this story is a bit pessimistic, but if we think of their both personalities there's chance they'll end up like how you describe.
That may be, IF Jjk never actually reflects on his past actions towards Dan and remains the rude asshole that he used to be. It's impossible for him to become a romantic and affectionate partner, that'll be too out of character for him, though he can become gentler and treat mc with respect. Yes, he can but he needs to have the desire and will to change, and because he knows he likes Kim Dan. And not just needing mc for sex or his jinx, oc. This won't be possible also without Dan showing to the asshole he deserves respect and needs to be treated well. Dan will have to express clearly his thoughts and his wants. I don't think Jjk will have a lot to brag about having saved his life, cause' we know that for Dan, life is meaningless if he's unhappy.
Aside from that, yes this bl has a cliché plot like . It's indeniable.
The details about the change you mentioned about the characters are necessary for an more positive conclusion. ML has to acknowledge his mistakes and has to show proper remorse for any decent change, the only problem is that the character that the writer built him to be seems to be the type that's just almost incapable of proper remorse. Yeah..... I am definitely being overtly pessimistic lol. Honestly though, maybe the writer would really be able to execute a satisfying redemption arc with a ML like jkg, it would take a great amount of effort and might be hampered by the limitations she has to deal with but who knows we might get to read something really special.

I agree with you that the way he's written by author is the biggest obstacle to his redeem arc/redemption or for him to simply behave like a decent human being. Author will need to do a lot of gymnastic and manipulations from there on to make Jjk a decent partner for Dan, and especially make the manhwas look like it's only great points doesn't lies on the smut and the art.
It's understandable that you're reacting this way bc this plot itsef isn't special, if anything there's tons of manhwas with that premise already (rich/poor, strong/weak, debts, loan sharks...). Hopefully the rest of elements that compose the background of this smut bl is enough compelling to keep the readers around, plus the art (!).
