You’re pissed off because of the fact that you’re attracted to him, and you deny those feelings through anger and redirect those agitated emotions onto the root of those feelings to further push away and avoid your problem. Okay but tbh I think that 12 is kind of an inappropriate age for the characters.
Idk how to explain it but they are generally written as / look like teenagers. I think they should at least be 14.
12 year olds are not as mature nor do they look like that, we’re talking about literal 6th graders here.
-14 year olds aren’t much of a difference but if the aim was to make them still be in the younger area they probably should’ve gone with around 14.
Remember art still 1) thinks of himself as Grey and 2) he technically has the Mindset as the 40+ year old Grey. He is a early bloomer with his power too.
Now with how they look, that is just the art style. Don't like it, don't read it.
And in this novel world, everybody is more mature than if you compared to real life. Obviously personally growth and such is gonna go be way different, what people find important will be different than real life. These people grew up veru diffrent how we have grown up. Im just saying don't compare it to the real world bc. There is no such thing as a 6th grader in the novels world. And also with maturity, don't compare to our world where some of us are almost always on our phones instead of being active ( yes I'm calling myself out ) atleast with current generations. When past generations were known to be more mature at our current age. ( in my opinion )
I would consider my comment more of a lighthearted comment, I wasn’t trying to criticize. I actually do love this comic ! I understand what you’re saying and I partially agree .. but I wasn’t just talking abt Art with the age, I definitely keep in mind his old-man alter-ego while reading. In general, I personally think the opposite of you; kids can and have become more mature at a young age due to the exposure from technology. Anyways, I’m kind of just over here thinking that 12 seems kind of unrealistic—and yea “unrealistic” doesn’t matter, it’s the fantasy word. I just wished they were a little older because I think they would fit much better as 14. - 12 just threw me off that’s all.
Oh okay gotcha. I didn't mean to sound condescending my words just came out that way I realized. And the maturity people have nowadays is different from the maturity people didn't have back then. Different types but I get what u mean. I just mainly see spoiled brats all the time and stuff and I'm like, you would get throw away acting like that in different time periods. but yes time periods. Um hello they asked why he’s doing what he’s doing and he gave them his honest answer. No need to shit on him, it’s not like he’s taking advantage of people and being an asshole.
