I don't know who translated that Frensh part but it said 5 minutes, thank you !
I don't know where the medium, please came from

I was laughing so hard, like if they had to fit a translation they could have used common sense the words were literally similar to English

Uhm... Sorry to ruin y'all's laughter.
Technically cinq minutes is the french way of saying that u want ur steak "medium". It's not really the french way since the french names are also weird. But yeah ill explain.
There are various ways of cooking steak, Well done (fully cooked), a bit raw etc
So technically medium is a steak that has a bit of red/raw core...
It goes like this "From Rare -> Medium Rare -> Medium -> Medium well -> to Well done"
So the medium frequency takes about 5 minutes to cook. Well it depends on each person but mostly it's 5 minutes for each side of the steak.
So yeah the author could have used the french names for it but yeh. I only understood that they meant steak when the translation said "medium".
And thank u for reading a this :D

Uhm... sorry to ruin your Knowledgeable moment, there is a Frensh way or a phrase to say you want your stake to be medium cooked and it's not weird at all, but rather very normal and simple, and pardon me who doesn't know the various ways of cooking stakes, as I read it I understood that he wants him back after 5 minutes to take their order or they will need 5 minutes to decide what they want since no " Stake " was mentioned, and if it is what your saying I found it pretty weird since I'm basically half Frensh, and it didn't make any sense for me and yeah, Thanks for Replying, luv ya ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ

Uhmm well im not half or anything but im pretty fluent in french too, just that...
That's the only way that sentence could make sense. Ofc im talking about the English translation. As for the french phrase, im just gonna assume the author made some weird mistake in their phrasing.
And why am i focusing on the translation? Because that was probably translated from chinese. Which is the meaning that the author really meant.
Also, u mentioned in ur reply that there are french names for them, and yes, that is what i said too. And i also mentioned that it is not the french way of saying u want a medium.
And u said that he wanted him after 5 minutes?.... that is possible but i can't see it making sense.
Aaaaaand i didn't mean anything bad by my comment i just literally thought y'all didn't know steaks and stuff.. since i didnt know anything about that before watching Gordon ramsey vids...
It's dumb from to assume others are ignorant as well. ( ̄∇ ̄")
But yeeeeee i dont really want this topic to be too deep so yeh ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Exactly lol, I thought my french was so shitty that I couldn’t even understand “medium, please” I was like I swear he just said “5 minutes...”
