Gabi might be onto something. If they killed that centipede thing, it might stop the Rumbling and kill off the Titans, and the Shifters might go back to ordinary people.

I hear you, I have the same thoughts when it comes to Eren, I'm just wishing that at the end he explains in a reasonable way why he's doing everything, like in code geass.

I DO in fact think he's pulling a Lelouch, and have been saying it for months. He started the Rumbling because it was literally the only way to save his friends, and he became determine to do whatever it takes to save his friends and the Eldians. But now that he's started it, he can't stop it. He doesn't want to destroy the world though, which is why he wants his friends to kill him (he's going to die soon anyway), and they won't do that unless they know he's serious and that there's no other way.

So I thought it would end in Eren's death, but now I'm seeing a sliver of hope that maybe, just maybe, he will survive if they destroy the source of the Titans (the centipede), which will get rid of all the Titans and also lift Ymir's curse. My only concern is that Isayama said that when he first started this that he intended to have it end tragically with everyone dying, but due to it's popularity, he was forced to change things and greatly expand the series. He also said that he doesn't believe in happy endings.

That but not a happy ending doesn't mean ending in tragedy. Right now, I'd like for the series to end with Eren to be isolated and hunted by society forcing him to live in exile, so he, Mikasa, and Armin go off on their own to see the world together like they always dreamed of. Not really a happy ending, but not a tragic one either. Bittersweet.
