Because the characters in the second couple already had relationships, faults and interests that had nothing to do with their romance, so they're more complex and have more room for growing.

You know, I really really really LOVE Sakyo Aya sensei's work, she's one of my favourite mangakas but, I don't know, this one here is a little strange... and I wonder if she was the one who wrote pussyass or asspussy or whatever the heck it was, originaly or if it was translated this way because, I was soo into it and then pouf! The magic was gone xD the characters are good though, story line seems great, though it's cliche, I do love this type of cliche. But at the end the sex scene was off.
Yeah, in the original Japanese it says "ketsuman", which literally translates to asspussy.

Generaly I hate stupid, weak and usless lovers so It's quite rare for me to read this far a story like this but well, it's a good story with a good plot, so I really hope that this endless cycle stops.
