why is it that when the art is good, people assume that it's a great manga?
for one thing i hate ugly art (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸 however if its ridiculously hilarious thats another thing(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
Well for some, if the art ain't up to par then the whole manga goes down the drain, cuz they can't concentrate on the story if the artwork is "bad" I'm guessing. So if the art is A+ then it makes the whole reading experience more enjoyable and if it's paired with a great storyline then it's a damn good manga (☆▽☆)
just another typical douchebag where apparently everyone likes.
it's called formalist approach. just because he's a vampire, it doesn't exempt him from being rational. if try to not be touchy feely and tend to rather be objective about the about the story, you'd know that it's only but typical and superficial. that's the problem with bl comics. it's as if it was written as a shoujo only that the girl has a dick where everything defies common sense.
Even using formalist approach, the setting and characters of the story clearly still live in a society where a vampire is a different being than a human. Therefore, my question still has relevance: Is it really right to judge a vampire by human standards? As for it defying common sense, of course it does. It is a fantasy fiction, and genre happens to be one of the things taken into account when using formalism as a way to criticize any type of literature.
wow, i can't believe that you're saying it's ok to be a massive dick just because you're not a human even if you're smart enough to rationalize things well. being a vampire has nothing to do about being a total ass cause in the first place her sister is not a total dick. so yeah, your vampire argument ain't gonna make a rapist a better guy.
I never said it's okay to be a massive dick just because you're not human. As for how he's treating the uke, I've read numerous manga where the seme is much much worse than this one. Most of those manga get all these comments about how the characters are just misunderstood or something along those lines. This seme, although he is coming off as a little disconnected maybe, isn't actually being outright cruel to the uke. All I meant was like with ethnocentrism for example, where it's not right to judge other cultures and their ways based on your beliefs that your culture is the best.
Thank you. I wasn't sure if I managed to get what I was trying to say across clearly. I in no way advocate playing with others or their emotions, but in stories like this one I tend to keep a completely objective view. I do this because: 1) It's a story, and I have no problem keeping reality and fiction separate; and 2) I truly do not like to judge others. If I am going to make a judgment about anyone, I like to know as much about the situation and person as possible (including how they were raised and their history. I tend to live very firmly with the ideals associated around the philosophy of "Live and let live".
I'm the same way :) When I catch myself judging someone, it's a snap judgement usually because of ethnocentricism (kind of ingrained in Western culture, so it's pretty hard to escape)...I sometimes have to make a conscious effort to remind myself that others may live by a standard different from my own. Plus, you're right. I don't think this seme was being mean at all...your choice of word "disconnected" definitely felt more accurate. And at the end of the day, it is fiction :P If you think of the seme's point of view...he's being used because it's "cool" to have a pure-blood vampire on your arm...I think people just tend to rag because the story is told from the uke's point of view, so it's easier to be sympathetic. But...it's easier to just look down and demean others, than to try and see from their point of view, so...it's what a lot of people end up doing (I'm talking about reality, not the manga ^_^)
i've been scrolling down the comment section for months if they have the raws but alas not even one has posted.
As far as I know, there are only three chapters for this manga. The manga is finished, so it's no use looking for something that doesn't exist.
I wished there was a continuation too, to be honest.
this manga is one of the worst representation of bdsm
that's the reason I don't view it as bdsm, but a bunch of awkward guys with twisted personalities having awkward sex. This isn't what bdsm is about.
