I listened to their music and actually they were pretty amazing so it became my favorite Japanese rock band I also listen to SID and Hello Sleepwalkers but UVERworld remains the best

It involves 2 high school boys (of course, it always does) but one of them suffers from a type of memory loss where sometimes during a conversation, he'll forget things, such as who the person is in front of him. So he carries a notebook containing basic information like his name, home, age and etc. One day, his friend found that notebook and was very perplexed and I think confronted him.
It seems like the cause for memory loss was an accident damaging parts of his brain. The 2 eventually got together I think and his memory got better towards the end.
