Can someone spoil me what's wrong with the duchess and emperor? Are they mentally sick or just horrible people?
The emperor is just a spineless coward who only thinks of himself. Out of guilt/in an attempt to placate his sister the duchess at the queens expense. Basically he let everyone walk all over her and just kept her as his trophy.
The duchess on the other hand has only ever cared about the former queen the princes mom. To the point where it seems like an obsession. She blames the king for her death (due to childbirth, because he couldn’t decide whether to save her or not by sacrificing their unborn child who’s powers were considered to be the strongest in royal history). Duchess has since been abusing her authority to take it out on the present queen, while researching black magic in an agent to bring the former queen back to life/destroy everyone. She doesn’t care who she kills or harms in the process. She is unable (so far) to take it out on the prince especially since he has his mother’s eyes and is like the last thing left of her.

I'm currently at chapter 2. What did they expect when she came to the construction shop? She obviously went there to commission work...how else do they get work there? Do you need to make an appointment to just think if you would like a job?
I understand that the MC can't always be super smart etc and I've seen a couple of airheads MCs that are well written so I know this could have been promising...why is the MC so much of an idiot and what's wrong with all those princes? What about world building (I really can't understand this world)? The plot often makes no sense and the characters are flat and inconsistent...where has the quality gone?
As expected every woman needs to fall in love with the incredible MC who is actually pretty incompetent except for one magic he has honed to defend himself and others probably incidentally
Why is MC feeling guilty when he was forced to do everything and that other guy just took over someone's body, their whole life, without regret or a second thought it's him who should be apologising on his knees
Boring, everyone is so... easygoing and idiotic (idk how else to describe them), anyway it's very dumb and quick paced
I just started this story and feel confused by MC actions and thoughts...is this story worth it?
I feel that this story is a bit nonsensical and surreal
As expected it's the usual "the ML actually always loved FL" trope. I read the next chapter (chapter 3) somewhere else and the wolf is the ML who has been cursed by the chancellor. He wanted to protect FL by keeping her distant and the commoner concubine is actually his male servant dressed up.

It could be. It depends on how it's written later on. Being predictable doesn't necessarily mean being boring.
