To me, this story reads like the author wrote the story with a woman (herself) in mind, and just replaced "she" with "he". You can tell they are almost fetishizing homosexuality and literally treat it like a dirty little secret, while at the same time subjecting these alleged gay men to heteronormativity in both design and storytelling, to the point you can often forget this is supposed to be man on man action. Also heavy pedo vibes. Just yikes all around.
