i know the title is “materialistic princess” but to pivot from being offended by the bribery accusations to describing the cartoonishly villainous way she handled all of the bribes was pretty audacious
what kind of mother would hold information about a serious from their now-adult child, especially when her marriage to the duke was crucial to treating it?? why wouldn’t the importance of the medication have been relayed to the maid too? i don’t doubt MC will be able to get the medical help she needs because, even if he has no idea, kynell clearly has a connection to the royal family who have access to the meds—he has the same black hair as the crown prince and this is literally called “royal marriage.” i hope her mother isn’t truly redeemed. yeah she might care in her own way, but surely there were other ways to get medical help that didn’t conveniently involve MC becoming a duchess. she married off her children for their well-being as a family with nothing to their name, but it became straight up exploitative at a certain point.
kind of want spoilers but the other part of me just wants to see how this train wreck plays out in real time because it’s hella interesting in this twisted sort of way.

they’re so adorable i’m glad they’re already married. she would be an absolute fool to throw away this peace and happiness (and delicious food) for something that clearly made her unhappy, even if she might not be fully conscious of that fact yet
Frr Even I don't know why she's going back when she realises the difference pretty nicely, she remembers what made her sad and how people treated her and realises how she is now but still.... anyways it's drama after all something must happen to make the story interesting

…Judith mentioned Luca spent a lot of time there in the novel. Luca’s a regressor. He probably knows this place like the back of his hand, or at least well enough to have a chance at finding her (if they let him).
Honestly, that’s what I’d expect too. Or, rather, he’d either offer to go but be rejected due to how dangerous it is or sneak out by himself, knowing that he’s her best chance of escape. Ruediger would come along of course, either having caught him (Luca probably still has familial affection for him and might decide not to put him in danger) or having been invited because Luca is way too young to be a good enough fighter to protect both himself and Judith
i was going to wait until this whole arc was over to read because it’s just way too stressful (and heartbreaking) but i don’t think i can stay away
Arcana is the real MVP of this series for pushing past his own feelings and trying to straighten out this mess because they do have more important things to worry about.
Which feelings? I'm not arguing that Arcana is the MVP but his feelings for Sigrid seemed more platonic or admiration than romantic.
I agree, it didn't seem romantic for me either which makes it even more likeable.

Oh, I completely agree! Specially after Morris actions in the last chapter. He seems to be the only one making progress on the pressing matter.
I wish they handled the situation with janet better than whatever that was. She deserved her punishment, but could have been manipulated into giving testimony before receiving it. And that’s just Janet. The main culprit is the prince, but he’s such a high-profile figure they need a strong case to bring him down, and losing witnesses is the opposite of helpful. What will starting a war and putting unrelated people to the sword solve? Independence is good for security but surely there is another way to bring this vile man to justice aside from trouncing him when he shows up with an army—most people don’t even know the extent of the crimes he’s committed to have an opinion on the matter. We, the audience, hardly had time to process everything he revealed to MC let alone consider the implications of it all. We didn’t even have time to process the SA of MC before the story switched gears from the high-tension political intrigue to the romance. The romance is still important, the pivot was just a little jarring? underwhelming? confusing? idk. It’s sad because the mystery about what happened to ML’s ex-fiancée was part of the entire premise—the reason behind the deal between our main couple in the first place—was finally going somewhere before that momentum just stopped. And now we’re picking things back up in the least subtle way possible, with dire consequences. I like the series, don’t get me wrong, I just think the flow is weird
I think the punishment for her was quite ok. They did say that they her testimony will be helpful but it's not necessary. Giving her more hope that she is "needed" just gives her the satisfaction which she definitely does not deserve

It’s a sensitive subject so I’m kinda dissatisfied with how it was handled, I wasn’t able to enjoy the romance after it since what happened was rlly srs n a sensitive topic i was expecting a more slower pacing allowing us to process that situation and have it be addressed but no it just jumped straight into that shit n i was NOT feeling it ☠ the whole tension n everything just felt so forced and yeah underwhelming
