Tbh I don’t really feel like it was rushed all that much save for the lack of an epilogue. This was actually a really well executed isekai with a proper ending that actually made sense and was foreshadowed the entire time. Like, it wasn’t bloated and no time was wasted—it felt tight and was a good relatively quick read compared to others.

Would it not have made more sense to try and get someone else as a spy to find out info on who she’s actually loyal to?? Objectively speaking, Sigrid is a terrible choice for this type of spy work because she’s bad with subtleties, too straightforward, and incredibly easy to read. I get that the author wanted to recreate that “same but different” dynamic with the emperor, but Sigrid was never really a spy to begin with. It would be better to test her loyalty by forcing her to use skills she actually possesses to do things like “remove obstacles.” The parallels with previous timeline would be stronger and it would be easier for her to fall back into old habits and take up her “perfect knight” persona. Yeah, it’s probably about how much stronger her relationships are with the people around her but there’s so much miscommunication in this series already.

tbh it’s not that serious I’m just frustrated another wrench was thrown in the romance before they even sorted through the previous nonsense

I think so but knowing Sigrids personality, she wouldn’t want someone else to be in danger as a spy

It’s a fun story, but the use of miscommunication and withholding of key information is needlessly excessive to the point that it’s infuriating. FL is pretty clueless and has low awareness of herself and others. The people around her know this and yet they continue to keep things from her (mostly the dragon). On top of that, instances where she might learn something are constantly baited by the author with no payoff. Maybe they could change it up and tell her the truth and let her work through it on her own?? Because implying things isn’t working. She may be clueless, but she’s a kind soul and I’m concerned she might end up hurt if she’s presented this information in ways that might hurt her. We’ve already seen it with ML’s telling her how devastated he was after she passed, something made so obvious everyone knows. I just think it’s poor storytelling and cheapens the drama.

Pretty admirable of you to be concerned about a character that is written according to the author's plot

there were nods at the possibility of karin not being straight earlier, but this was certainly a huge step forward. I hope she’s able to step out from under her father’s expectations and love who she wants.

the more we learn about the backstory the less i can get behind it. the enemy being the sole survivor of a genocide ordered by her lover, someone who got all of his power through her, and were supposed to think she’s this evil bitch and not a victim? I’d be mad too if i were her. she did terrible things, yes, but her cause is a lot more convincing than fl’s need to put a bratty little shit on the throne

That's what. That's why from the beginning I can't hate her completely like I would do much worse if I was in her situation.
People in the comments keep saying it's her fault she fell in love with a traitor and she is responsible for her clan dying but like she is not ?!?!
    She just fell in love.
The victim blaming is strong. The only people responsible are God and that Goddamn Emperor.
I get she turned villainous now and I hate her actions of taking revenge on people who are unrelated, but like what can she even do. She is alive and everyone is dead.

I completely agree! Plus it’s that FL doesn’t have her own respectable reasons to be upset, it wasn’t only her family that she lost, I just think she chose a terrible path to take. I also don’t know how anyone who read the first king’s journal wouldn’t sympathize with the witches. There’s so much potential for the story to go in a more reconciliatory direction and I hope eventually it gets there. After all, FL has essentially put all her energy into putting an unsuitable man on the throne at her own expense. There’s a sort of parallel there between stories.

“Learn from romance novels” yes, but Gavin is outright plagiarizing the lines rather than learning and developing his own strategy. The audience knows Gavin’s perspective, but to Thea, already emotionally vulnerable and doubtful, it would look more like a shallow act in this context. This woman has been hurt and made huge sacrifices for this marriage that went unnoticed for years, of course her trust won’t be easily won by what is essentially a script. Gavin needs to use his own words now, just as Thea has been using hers, to make this work—they need direct communication, no barriers. Though this seems to be where they’re going

Honestly? If you look past the “taboo” of incest (or incest via socialization not blood), the story has become really sluggish and often lacks substance. It doesn’t help that Eugene was absent for half the plot and lacks development (the dead eyes don’t do a thing for him)—like we’re stuck with a lot of angsty incestuous longing in a really lacklustre, kind of depressing way. I found the younger brother’s realization of his feelings more impactful because he’s been better fleshed out as a character. What I’m saying is…if you’re gonna go this route, better choices could have been made.

All of the chapters after the promo are from the manhwa “Taming the Lady”, and have nothing to do with the story in the synopsis. I got excited for nothing.

dietsoba July 7, 2021 2:15 am

I think she’s joking because their reactions are hilarious but forreal remember large number of bastard siblings Wolfgang has? it’s not like he alone carries the bloodline or even the gold thing.

I'm sorry I accidentally pressed the dislike. ╥﹏╥

But totally agree with you, cause like it still has the same blood/genes.

If that happens, we just have to worry about the possibility of the baby/ies inheriting the golden hair and eyes ( ̄へ ̄)

Damn that scene gave me even more chills translated. It’s like the two did a flip and we’re getting darkness with glowing eyes from blondie and sparkly smiles from Cabel. Why would a prince in a battle for the throne who can see powers approach a priestess from a tiny church unless he saw her potential?? (As a pawn.) Cabel had literally been going specifically to their temple and making donations to have her put him to sleep to the extent that her breathing calmed him down—his attention to her made sense. Blondie may have liked her along the way but upon rereading it earlier, the signs were there. Now that they’re in the capital, it’s his ground. Cabel has less power compared to the battlefield because of his personality. So, it may have been a wrong confession but it might also have been the better choice. Who knows if she’ll play with fire for the sake of learning more but I hope to god she tells Cabel the truth because the man looks at her with shoujo sparkles.
