Tbh I think people are being too hard in both of them in complaining about their progress as a couple. Sabelian is a recovering victim of SA his previous wife as a child and from OG Abigail. He’s only recently warmed up to Abigail and has no romantic experience. Then Abigail has deep-seated self-hate and self-image problems that worsened after her negative experiences with confessions. They’re both a mess. But since it’s confessions Abigail struggles with, I’m glad Blanche and Verite went to Sabelian first, especially since he’s more sure of his feelings (even if he struggles with voicing them).

Unilaterally deciding what’s best for someone, without communicating anything or listening to their needs, is so incredibly inconsiderate. How was she even supposed to know they were “protecting” her at all if they didn’t tell her? How would they know what she needs without asking? She can’t even trust the people who help her get ready, regardless of where the duchess is. The king needs to properly take responsibility for the welfare of the person he swept up into this and the prince needs to stop following in his footsteps.

i know it’s in the background but there are a lot of steps in inside that manor, especially compared to his previous house, and it’s bothering me because the loss of mobility and independence would be huge;; idk maybe they’ll fix it (i live with someone who uses a wheelchair)…not that seeing her carry him isn’t precious

pleaaaaase tell me this arc doesn’t last long
…(dear novel readers please help) like, I’all here for drama, and i get that he might get something out of this separation from her overwhelming influence on him, but backtracking on character/relationship development, only to have to do it all over again with 10x the anxiety, is gonna be annoying as hell. there’s gotta be a better way

If the person isn’t breathing, you do CPR before you do anything else, because nothing matters if their heart stops and their brain isn’t getting oxygen. No idea if this is the case in Ch 1 because we don’t see the details, but the emphasis was on the ignorant onlookers focusing on the mouth-to-mouth and not the basic first aid. Mostly defending this because the way FL caught the maid by manipulating her into thinking she had rabies was kind of epic.

So we’ve found the final princess…who has zero interest in men and refused to even bother trying to charm the prince. Honestly? Mood. Juana is far more genuine in her chivalry anyway. And since the uncle is too old and the gardener is wrapped up with a different princess…i can get behind this ship. It won’t happen but even so.
they really need to start communicating and not just assuming what the other is thinking all the time, because the misunderstandings are getting annoying. they aren’t seeing eye to eye and have very little chemistry as a couple outside the battlefield, which, based on the title, is probably the point but it’s not working because of the huge power imbalance—FL is the lord of this land but is far more yielding than she should be to be considered “arrogant” (the rest is interesting, it’s just the romance that has me fuming personally i mean no disrespect to others’ opinions)
I'm just really annoyed that these misunderstandings came right when there was some progress, but then it progressed too fast with no communication and now we are back to like square one.
Yes although I think it's hilarious Carlisle is like "I know EXACTLY what's going on" all smug and he's always so wrong lol.
