I was a bit on the fence about this initially but man have I come to love them even in the short while I've seen them.
I love Daeyon, I love that her laziness slowly evolved more and more from just not choosing to do stuff to a real symptom and representation of mental illness, be it depression or PTSD from her life before.
I Love the emperor, how he is presented as this cold hearted but efficient ruler and still at the same time he is this high energy person who sees and tries to fix everything within his sights even when that fix is not necessarily wanted or the proper way to go about it (like with Daeyon) and I like that he is slowly changing himself just as Daeyon is slowly dealing with her mental state (slow as it is and with the many expected setbacks)
Finally the priest, gosh he looks like a puppy but I can't help but think he will turn into some kind of obsessed yandere at the drop of a hat.
ok, so I'm barely 7 chapters in and already Isabelle has rubbed me the wrong way.
Novel Isabelle is passable but comic Isabelle? gosh she's just no, Comic Lucas is also a bit more childish than novel Lucas but we'll see how this develops. I'll respond to myself as things go along jajajaj document if my mind changes about stuff.
Ok so I'm in chapter 37 BE WARNED I WILL COMPARE CERTAIN ASPECTS OF THEIR PERSONALITIES FROM THE NOVEL SO MILD SPOILER AHEAD.

I just can't see any reason for Isabelle to be here at all, she has provided a line or two that did make me laugh (Accusing Frey of being bipolar for example XD) but her presence is unnecessary. This trip in the novel is for Lucas to come to terms with the things that have happened, he does so alone and it feels all the more emotionally heavy for it as a reader we get the time to know Frey/Lucas as our MC. The comic hits the story beats but Isabelle is just standing in the background screaming the whole time, it kills the mood several times.
it does also make me wonder how they will handle a few events that will come up shortly but I guess we'll see.
As for Frey/Lucas, the personality we see as they enter chapter 33 is more in line with how he behaves in the Novel, serious, reserved, and dense as fuck XD.
The dungeon scenes made me cry tho.
It's understandable since you were at chapter 7 and didn't like her I didn't like her then either but chapter 37? Sounds like you're just hating to hate now she's a good and useful character NTM she also doesn't get in his way and helps him when she can he doesn't need to be alone in the story just because it's his story other people will also be involved in his life he's not a loner LMAO
The evil laugh from a few chapters ago gave super sus feelings about aileen and now with this recent chapter I feel like they are trying to pull wool over our eyes :/
