Thank god that scene remained innocent, thought author was gonna pull a page from safari game https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/safari_game/

This started souring at ch 87 when author decides to make the real edith say she didn't deserve to live Her Own Life... so It's Okay If MC lives in Her Body because MC Deserves It More... ... i wldnt have liked this either but if I had to choose btwn this or having real edith say simply that she's just ready to move on to her next life, I'd choose the latter.
The real edith deserved to live her own life, she deserved to feel kindness and acceptance in a family. She lived her entire life severely abused (even after marriage because the maid was with her from the beginning), a perfect puppet who never had her own agency or cld possibly comprehend that she cld try to fight for it where she cld, was never met with kindness or manners, never experienced emotional safety or security, and author implies that she shldve met all of that hatred that was directed at her with mc's benevolence. Once again, author uses the real edith to make the mc's "goodness" shine brighter, just like what "author" in the story did for rhyse. Abuse is such a complex topic to capture but it cldve been handled so beautifully, victims dont always decide to choose vulnerability, sometimes they choose to be meaner to keep ppl away from their scared side. Author implies that victims shld magically have the strength to rise above mistreatment, and places all the responsibility on the real edith. Healing starts with a support system, a safe place to land when you fail to build yourself back up, and edith never had that.
And the real rhyse... is spineless and dense. (Which is confusing because mc/author painted her as someone who will confidently and clearly advocate for justice and honesty (in the forged letters arc)) She really didn't mean any harm but it doesn't matter her intentions if she caused harm anyway. Such a stupid reason to wear white to a wedding!! If she really cared about edith before she even joined the family, she has to Insist that she cannot wear white because it wld still make edith a mockery in front of all those nobles. That first misstep caused the deeply distrustful and scared edith to assume that she was antagonizing her, like everyone else in her life. If she knew even before she joined the rudwicks that edith was even more severely abused than she was, why wld she keep edith's situation so ambiguous when advocating for her, allowing for it to be misinterpreted that she's "too kind for her own good", it's giving green tea bitch. she was the only one in the family who knew the full truth about the real edith and chose to tiptoe around it. And Then, she decided to trust some frigging Outsider ("author") to do what she cldve done herself.
Two girls abused by their family and isolated by other women for their beauty... they cldve understand each other the most, heal each others' emotional wounds better than anyone else can..
The description had a stroke
