So first, how to contact a scanlator, and secondly, can we normalize not only explaining where the fanart is from but also giving credit to the artist? I know some scanlators upload fanart with the manga and i want to become a scanlator myself (though I’m confused on the website how) but the one that took up Angel Buddy doesn’t credit the artist that do the fanart at the end and all they said at the end of the latest update was that the fanart was hard to find, which is all the more reason to reverse search and find the artist. (3 questions i guess)

Depending on the scanlator/uploader you can contact them in multiple ways: either mailing them by finding their account (you can only find their account if they comment or something that tells you that they uploaded it because otherwise there is nothing directly tying accs to uploads) or some uploaders (like DED for Angel Buddy) will have a list of things they're uploading
If they're a larger scan group like Rose Squad Scans or Hero Scans then they have an account you can message them on

1) oh absolutely everyone should credit artists every time, the only case I can see where you wouldn't is if you're like if you're using manga panels. It's kinda disheartening that some people don't understand that
2) you can become a scanlator by learning the three basic skills: translating, cleaning, and typesetting if it's untranslated works.
3) you can contact scanalators by looking their group name up online, they usually have like a website or tumble with contact information!

However you should always reverse image search to be able to try to find the artist. Pintrest is not a site i love because you dont have to credit artists to post something.
Not only that, but why do we not help younger viewers who read BL and don’t quite understand the reality of sex realize that this is a crime. I undefined some people do fantasize about some rapey aspects and as much as I’m not for it, I just sit through it anyways because I’m bored for a story. However, when I was younger I didn’t understand this at all and yet I’d look at these and be like “yes. this is the greatest story”. Hell, my go to manga to reread is The Tryant Who Fell In Love which is very much so rapey in its way of things. I’d one day like to see not only a bl comic that respects the consent rule but also explores what’s not ok in a low key fashion.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. When I was younger I read Dakaretai Otoko Ichii Ni Odosarete Imasu and in the beginning their relationship only starts after the seme violates uke. It was only later when I reread again that I found the way their relationship started to be absurd.

I'm lucky to have gotten sex education from other sources than yaoi (like about condoms, stds, consent, and general rules) but it's sad to see readers being exposed to sex/smut for the first time through those types of stories. In the end, the authors are adults who aim their yaoi at an older audience and didn't intend for it to be introduced to younger people with no prior concepts.

Tbh I sorta had the same experience as u because I watched the anime first so I decided to read the manga and everytime I read the manga I always look at the comments and I was surprised when all of the comments said that this story was sugarcoated and that the seme raped him so I went to read it and realized that all of the comments were true and that the couple never did discuss on what the same did in the beginning. To sum it all up the anime maked it look like the seme did it with him with consent which he didnt
