my friend came out as bi today

He came out as bi and I would like to comfort him. He's been crying and overwhelmed with his emotions since a while ago. What should I say to him as his best friend? I'm new to this and I would like to make him comfortable as much as possible.

i dont have personal experience, but if it were me who came out id want my friend to say something along the lines of "its okay, its totally alright that ur bi, im so proud of you for telling me" and probably for them to move on and just act normally, maybe play a game (i dont like confrontations lol)

Say that you fully support him as your friend and will have his back no matter what happens (◕ᴗ◕✿)

Just a few things I wish I knew when I came out
you dont HAVE to come out to everyone, picking and choosing is fine and not telling your family or other people for your own safety is completely valid.

Coming out is not a one time event, it's a journey of figuring out who you are so its completely fine if youre confused or are having conflicting emotions. There's a reason some people come out more than once, it's because things change people realize new things about themselves and that's ok!

And one last thing, don't feel like any less of a person because of society's stigma. You are yourself and that's all that matters, sometimes labels come with a negative idea but it's better to just take into account how you feel and not what others are telling you to.

I hope that made sense and you could relay this to him if he's in need of advice but sometimes people just need a friend to hug and a shoulder to cry on :)
