I disagree. Although it is the norm, her mother is obsessed with her image and forces that on her children. I get that being proper is expected but she’s too excessive

It wasn't the parent's fault for disregarding their daughter's wishes it is simply their current society's norms...honestly does norms were quite strict and harsh, maybe stupid?, but kinda beneficial in a way
