    im not sure what kinda asian country you’re talking abt but do u really call your SIGNIFICANT OTHER “senior”??? even at home??? they’re in a 10 year relationship just call each other by names bro i know japan is a country where honorifics are really important but..... ur 10 year lover.......

    I've seen Koreans and Chinese do this too (I remember there was a part in Hosik's Story where the husband tried to get his lover to stop calling him sunbae after getting out of college), so I'm thinking it's an Asian thing. Honestly, it's nothing bad per se, to them at least. It's just another way to call someone. Sorta like calling someone dude, I guess. I think there's also something of the sort in India too. The gist of it is that you can call anybody anything but their first name. Like, that's way weirder to them than calling each other senpai and stuff. They're the opposite of the West, and I see no problem with that. You do you, is the sorta mentality you've gotta have toward those different from you.
