Could be because he was jealous, the father wasn't exactly a good father to him and didn't receive the love that he wished for, and imagining the father is loving the other son more than him.
i understand uke, or rather his feelings... you don't want to hate, but it's harder than you think... you hate father, his mistress and their child(ren). it's an immature behaviour, but try to put yourself in his (uke) shoes: you're angry and desperate... you cannot do anything for your mom even though you know about everything. it's freaking frustrating. it breaks your heart, you want to scream, cry, maybe beat the fu*k out of your father...
