If u think about it even tho Ayne doesn't want to be with her fiance(the duke) he's still her fiance. And Maria knows he's her fiance but still goes out with him and goes after him. She also let her dad say the rude things he did while both the duke and ayne r present. So even if she turns out to not be two faced she definitely isn't as innocent as she seems
