scanlators are so funny to me when they wanna be so private. first off, this is the internet, you can literally 'steal' movies and music here, ppl get their own cloud hacked, and their nudes leaked... how do they not expect for their sht to be "stolen" when what they're doing is illegal to begin with. their lil note at the end is also funny: 'buy ur own scans and translate it urself' 'wait for the licensed version' ... the sheer elitism and hypocrisy man lmaooo.

Many translators buy the volumes/chapters with their own money, for somehow supporting the Mangakas, and translate it for free. Pages Mangago and co., don't invest any money in it, but earn them instead with ads and everything else. They make really much money per month. You would collapse if you knew how much it is. So no, it isn't hypocrisy from the translators part, but eagerness from the readers like you who say such things, and pages like this one who make money through the work of others. I like to remember you what a shitty life Mangakas in Japan have, and how small their earnings are. If you are not an Eichiro Oda, or Gosho Aoyama. But when you are one of them, you might earn enough money, but you don't have a life at all, and become sick very fast. I understand that nothing on the Internet is secured from getting stole and whatever, but it is the translators choice if they want to release a real translation, or funny made up one. They don't you or me anything. We can't expect or pretend anything, since we are not even paying for it, but contributing to the shitty life of the mangakas. Even if I buy the mangas I like when they are avaiable, and contribute every month with just 1$ , to help these Mangakas out, through patreon and such. So again, no, they aren't hypocrite.

thing is a lot of these mangaka and webtoon artist specifically state they hate scanlators no matter what and the so called deed.

It is hypocrisy because at the end of the day, it's being done agaisnt their wishes and affecting their life/job. Doesn't matter if it's spread to this shithole. It's still scanlated and spread for non buyers to read.

rarely does it boosts the artist sales. It happens very rarely. It doesn't matter if the scanlator gives the artist a few bucks. It's a much larger than that. All the people who are reading a series for free aren't always gonna buy it, and that's lost sales and money.

The eagerness is understandable. but at the end of the day it's still being pirated. It's illegally being spread. Purchasing one copy doesn't condone spreading it to hundreds of others

I don't agree. There are many countries where Yaoi or other LGBT Mangas are taboo. Others where Mangas aren't that popular, and you can hardly find some translated.
For them this is the only way of reading mangas.
In countries where LGBT and non Mangas are not a taboo, and /or are popular, it happened very often that titles and Authors got discovered, or got a contract for a publication/translation, because readers begged the companies and mentioned the Mangakas which are good and need a chance. I am however not a fan of big groups who shares tons of chapter in a month with the whole world, and even ask money (donation) for it. I think they are not different from Mangago and co. But there are also groups or single person who don't do that, and share their translations with a very small and close group only, and not that often.

see. you can't have these excuses for one demographic and not assume the same demographic is given the oppurtunity to read this manga via Mangago or many other sites.

Like the argument overall is very weird and weak. It's cherrypicking who gets access though you're ironically arguing for the ableness to read via harsh restrictions in countries.

And it wasn't a very small close group on that discord... would you like to reprhase that or take it back lol

in the context at hand, the scanlator wasn't spreading it to a small or close group. Thus the stolen content.

    and here we are
