Same! If only Wen pursued her dream instead of sticking to Fan, then I think it would've worked for them.
It's not that I don't understand that why Wen decided to stick to Fan instead of going abroad, but as a man, I would also prefer to have a LDR with my girlfriend so that she can pursue her dreams and have better chances of having a good life.
And that situation is very interesting the way the author choose to display his parent's traditional expectations!
Despite I found the mc to be annoying in the beginning, I found this serie to have some really interesting discussion points. Basically - we're no longer at a point where it is the male who decides the happiness, but both must have on an equal standing (money, carreer etc), where each are happy and confident (I am not saying they must earn the same or have the same background, but each must have acheived a level where they are confident). Fan could have been happy enough with Xixi (the rich girl) if he had his confidence in his own achievements.
Also, loved that the author tuched on the point cheating - you don't always know if it is you who's the real girl friend, or if you are actually the intruding one despite your intentens.
:)
I still don't think it would've worked out for them mainly because Fan wasn't super sure about what he wanted. Although in this updated chapter he stated that he wanted Wen to be pursue her dreams and be independent, in the past he also took advantage of her caring for him and doing things for him, and only really opposed it when it became too much and she was too clingy. They're both in the wrong, but I think that either way, if Wen had left he would say that they were drifting apart, and if she didn't he would start thinking of her as too clingy (which happened).
For me I think she is most at fault because if I was constantly having problems with someone and I asked for a breakup since I got no more feelings for them and they DONT let me break up and say they will kill themselves if I do then honestly I would cheat instead of laying around and/or being blame if they did die. But he shoulda Atless took her twisted feelings into consideration. Good thing is that she finally moved on.
I agree. He definitely had a flirty relationship way before trying to break up with his gf. You know this man been emotionally cheating for a while. The girl is also at fault i get wanting to fix your relationship and try to resolve things but she did it in the worst way. I chalk that all up to psychological issues, girl needs therapy. After reading this i need a Niki in my life for love advice though.
I'd say that both Wen and Zhuo Fan are at fault. Wen didn't break up with him even though he's asking for a break-up and she even threatened him with suicide. On the other side, Zhuo Fan had a relationship with another girl even though he still hadn't officially broken up with Wen. Both of them are at fault but I sympathize with both of them especially with Zhuo Fan at Ch. 35
