Emiel got together with a princess in order to dig into the royal family so he could get rid of the threat that burderns the MC. Emiel did say to the Duke that he doesn't expect her to like him after everything ends. Well, I don't know if he told the Duke about his plans though. Anyways, he did foreshadow us by saying "I would fill in the hole/the weakness/the flaw of her family" in one of the chapters before MC confesses to him(I think it was before the confession)
Why? Well because it happens in real life. The fact that Emiel actually likes her is an advantage for our MC who likes him. She is lucky her feelings could get reciprocated by a person who saw her grow up.
The fact that these situations happen that kids who become adults have a chance to pursue their older love interest. It's devastating that you don't a have a single chance to pursue the one you like.
Some of the younger people in this situation doesn't even get out of being seen as a child by the one they like and that fact makes them depressed. It wasn't even illegal but they are deprived of their chance just because of something that doesn't badly effect offsprings(incest badly effects the offsprings).
Well, this is my persuasion against your personal preference. Referenced from stories where one character is seen as a child while the other had a hard time dealing with this "child" that likes them. (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
I don't think the story is bad or anything, and it doesn't triggers me?) It's just that it makes me a little uncomfortable.
I have no problem with age gaps perse. It doesn't bother me that much when the MC's are a little older unlike here, considering that the settings are mostly historical and people got married pretty young in these times.
I don't see anything wrong with people who likes this or this kind of plot, it's fiction after all, it's just a me thing ( ̄∇ ̄")
I could say, that between a character who is seen as a child and a character troubled by the "child's" advances; you would probably emphasize more with the latter since you both feel uncomfortable with the 'Child You Saw Grew Up Likes You' kind of plot. The latter feels uncomfortable with dating a child they witnessed growing up.
I would emphasize more with the former since I believe that as long as there is no offspring bad effects; they should have a chance to pursue that person if they are not married. (▰˘◡˘▰)
Anyways, I believe that discussion are where we could change a person's opinion on things. I usually hit once and then go if the topic doesn't go anywhere. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
As to why I do this: It just makes me feel happy when I'm able to convince a person to have the same opinion as me. After all, (generally) people tend to feel positive feelings towards others that share the same opinion on things. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Yes, when you out it that way it makes sense ( ̄∇ ̄")
But don't worry, I'm glad you took the time to comment and explain your point of view to me. Friendly and strong points on differents opinions are always interesting to read.
I hope you keep enjoying the story and that it has a satisfactory ending ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
So, I'm not even half way through it but I can feel it in my soul, Emiel is the ml isn't? Can someone spoil the shit out of me so I can drop it, because it makes me uncomfortable ( ̄∇ ̄")
