That’s a good theory! I mean, it all sprung from him naming Dongbaek
Ikr. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ like the director prob be like "How can a person be so (blank)... Let's give him a name." and in a way Dongbaek was born and he/she fell in love cause they thought the director loved them or whatever.
For all those previous life, the director may have only loved Dongbaek out of curiosity and not love, so that's why they kept failing. The 'God' want the Director to LEARN love. All while Dongbaeks had sincerely fallen in love with the Directors, the director did not truly
love him/her. That's why it didn't work out well.
