yuppp hiragana fiiiirst, then you can learn how to write basic words such as greetings in hiragana until you get them right every single time
also its best not to rely too much on romaji to learn a word´s pronunciation, its less effort yes but its also easier to get the pronunciation wrong (intonation etc)
and try to read a lot, find little texts written in hiragana and keep reading everyday to make sure every character is engraved in your mind hehe (even if you dont understand the meaning right away!!) (≧∀≦)

Hi! I'm learning Japanese as well. Here are some of the platforms that I used when I first started:
Hiragana Pro- I learned the basics in an hour but to get the whole alphabet, you have to pay. It's less than a dollar though ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Katakana Pro- Just like Hiragana Pro, you have to pay to get the full language pack.
The notorious and dreaded: Duolingo- yes, I used this. I still use it from time to time because it helps me with pronunciation and helps me retain some phrases. It's very tourist-orientated so I don't recommend using it for study, but the whole Hiragana and Katakana are here for free so you can use that

i learned hiragana and katakana using an app called ¨nihongo no kana¨, it was the most effective and super easy to use!
also used duolingo for a while but it didnt feel like i was progressing and the pace was a little too slow for me (for vocabulary and grammar)
heard lots of good things about rosetta stones
heard lots of good things about ¨Japanese¨, just write japanese in the app store (if you use apple, idk bout android sorry) and its a white app with a black L design...
personally after learning hiragana and katakana i basically just practiced writing basic words to get used to the characters (sizes, dimension, order of strokes etc), learned a few dozen basic every day verbs, watched anime with and without subtitles as well as tv shows, dramas, youtube etc and i was somehow able to reach a decent level of everyday conversations, ordering at restaurants, asking for directions but my hearing was better than my speaking
then finally started with a japanese tutor on a platform called ¨italki¨, youre basically taking lessons with either a community tutor or a professional professor but it is not free
so in the end if you are just starting and wanna learn the ¨alphabet¨, nihongo no kana is my best recommendation! (≧∀≦)

Since you are just starting out, i recommend trying out apps like "Hiragana Memorizer", "Hiragana Pro" (and more) and also, youtube for channels like "Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101. com" with their 10 day hiragana learning challenges. There are plenty of ways you can try to memorize hiragana but yeah, that's how i did it and it helped me out a lot. Good luck!

I would also recommend Yuko Sensei on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf-ruwCgdtpCzuM7ODY5c9g
She goes through the basics, starting with hiragana and katakana, and is also very good at explaining grammar.
Not manga related but I'm tryna learn Japanese and I don't know which alphabet to start? Which one should i first start learning?
