Raymond is being very selfish, he wants it all, he's not willing to sacrifice anything. I can't blame Ian, he never had anything in his life and he feels like he's being greedy. That's why he's willing to sacrifice his painting career to stay with Raymond.
But Raymond is his source of happiness and pain.
I want them to leave everything behind and run away together! Both deserve happiness and a peaceful life.
