The dad was basically unresponsive to the uke for years until he finally cracked when he saw the video of this son and the uke together. There’s a brief realization that the dad does love him, possibly the only person he’s ever been in a relationship with that he loves, but it’s an incredibly violent and toxic, abusive love. When the son takes away the uke, a bit later, the uke has to perform with the dad but in the big screen, there is a video of them having sex and it basically ruins the reputation of the dad who is a professor. In the end, after getting into an accident, the uke and son/seme live happily together but don’t go to Germany yet until the uke finishes with rehab to play piano again. The dad is briefly stated that his wife files for divorce and he leaves for Germany alone.

Why was the dad unresponsive?

In terms of emotions, there were many instances where the uke was bullied but the dad just watched. He was described as someone who wasn’t capable of loving anyone, whether it was his wife or the mother of the seme. But later, it’s revealed when the uke leaves, that he gets really riled and it drives him crazy. It was depicted as obsession but it’s then revealed that it’s love, but he just didn’t know how to express it (hence the unresponsive part). The only time where he really showed any physical emotional change was when the uke gets into an accident and he cries, but it’s the last couple of chapters but by then, it’s too late for them to mend their relationship. Basically, unresponsive bc the uke thinks that his love isn’t being reciprocated and he’s just a “toilet” or “trash” (he describes himself to the dad) for the dad to vent in.
