Not quite from what I read the red is for girls and the blue is for boys, normally only a red thread and blue thread crosses (heterosexual couple) but sometime the homosexual god (the god in the manga) interfares and two blue thread crosses (homosexual couple) I think thats how it is. (⌒▽⌒)
